I asked one of the DDG ChatGPT bots about some error output from a program and apparently forgot to redact a URL. I found the DDG bot trying to access it about half an hour later. It was a long and randomly generated alpha-numeric subdomain and the conversation never discussed the URL or anything related to it- it was simply buried in the pasted error output. I think this was even before the DGG bots had web search capability. I was thoroughly spooked.

You don't even need to go that far to think its a bad name. The anglosphere can't even agree on the pronunciation and spelling.

Malicious actors will certainly take advantage of this as well.

I think a lot of drugs are like this though. When concerns and worries are removed, you have more mental capacity for the task at hand.

I have the same sentiment. I've never really had success using Gemini outside of translation. Although, even with that, Gemini would often refuse and I had to remind it that it does actually know other languages.

My most recent trials output single commas as responses to basic questions or it simply refuses the task on ethical grounds such as generating a photo of a backpack wearing a hoodie for some reason (it claimed harmful stereotypes and instead generated an ape).

Refusing to do perfectly ethical tasks is probably the most consist problem I've had.

I use a Firefox profile to watch specific videos while logged-out just for the focused recommendations.

I've also noticed that I getting more recommendations for small creators with little to no views/subs when I'm browsing from a smaller, developing country.

This is a great comment because in my motorcycle group of roughly ~60 or 70 people over the years, maybe 25% have owned a Miata. Apparently the motorcycle+miata crossover is huge. Usually along with an SV650 or DRZ at some point as well.

I never had a Miata but I did buy a DRZ and have a blast on it for about 4 hours. The following morning it wouldn't start and after spending all the time I was willing to spend on doing valves/carb/etc, I decided that the 450 kit was to blame, so I just traded it for a 2stroke! They are both barely stories, except to remind people that posting stuff publicly is public.

The reoccurring issue is that Twitter and other companies are convincing (and often forcing) you to do something unsafe like linking your phone number, while telling you that your data will be kept private and at the same time opting you in by default, or aggressively marketing, an option that compromises your security.

I'm sure you may be smart enough to know this compromises your anonymity, allows stalkers to find your phone number, etc. but the 99% of users wont.

Linking everything to a phone number is a major dark pattern that benefits the corporations while compromising the user. So rightfully, these malicious and harmful practices should be called out.
