I wouldn’t agree here, because my experiences showed me that in 1-2 months you can know if you are going in the right direction. Of course you can pivot later, but if I do customer research and interviews properly and execute fast with MVP that I can charge for, I can move forward or throw idea and focus on the next one.

The Cult of Crypto 5 years ago

If you are happy and satisfied with your current life, then you don’t make any mistakes, no matter if there are cryptocurrencies or not. If you don’t understand cryptocurrencies, do not risk your fiat money. If you want to understand, use demo accounts and learn about every crypto product and why it has trading volume, is it because of market manipulation or there are many people who believes in it and even use it in some game, applications, etc.

I agree, the presentation of important metrics is so crucial and I don’t like it, just wanted to hear HN opnion and actually is there a way to stop this data manipulation somehow? Can we build some product that can somehow solve this problem, because big percentage of population believes everything they see regarding data from ipsos and other big publishers.

The most important thing is that you calm down, because you will just learn a lot of great stuff as a father. Also, first 3 months you will have to support your wife, take care of many thing and you will learn a lot of life lessons that you couldn't learn anywhere. Be less on the phone and in front of TV and take care of your sleep and mental rest (meditation). Look at it as the Life University, because since I got my first kid, I have learned so much about life that helped in business and in every other segment of being a human. Just relax and learn from everything. And whatever happens, be supportive to your wife, because if she is feeling well, with baby and you will be well.

I believe you as a family have good capacity for founding the company, by making some good tech product or a game. And many foundations would finance it for sure.

As you said your son likes Lego and based on his skills, I believe there are a lot of good ideas to make some game or product that would satisfy Lego fans (I’m also a big fan of Lego). Here is one idea that maybe could be interesting and I would pay for it: if you remember the game ‘Gearhead garage’ (http://www.gearheadgarage.com/), I would be happy to get some famous Lego packs (like Batman 1989) which has some mistakes and then virtually fix these mistakes to finish the Lego set. Also, it could be a game where I’m just solving Lego sets virtually.

As you receive Social Security checks, and based on skills you have as a family, I believe you can create some amazing product. I would be happy to help with marketing. And I would be happy to see updates on this.

The book of Naval’s thought, tweets and podcasts all in one place:

https://www.navalmanack.com/

Really helped organize and structurize my thoughts on living, investing and managing stressful situations.

2nd book is ‘Direct Truth’ by Kapil Gupta. Really direct, bold and honest answers on big questions we ask ourselves. The book is short but you have to read every conversation few times, because we are programmed differently for some questions and we don’t really know the truth.

- You just get in the middle of sales in every possible way. - Find or build something that gets you excited to sell. - Find your passion, plan how to monetize it and start talking with all potential customer personas who would buy it. - Your goal always should be to get another meeting until it's closed and paid. - Optimize your social media to unfollow all BS things and follow just everything that is quality about sales. Then you will get recommendations on more and more groups, pages, profiles to follow and get into that. - Read books by reading intro and conclusion and if it's boring leave it. If it's interesting read it and write it down and then organize your own process of selling.

Hey guys, we’ve just created this practical product management framework which will help you to build the right products and build it right.

The framework includes: guide with 22 articles with theoretical knowledge, templates to apply the knowledge and a tool to execute this framework

The goal of the framework is to help you:

Create Product Strategy and Vision Have a clear idea of what you’re building and why.

Define Long Term Goals And Short Term Initiatives Define what your product needs to achieve and how to get there.

Build A Flexible Product Roadmap Determine and prioritize the most important features to build next.

Define And Manage Backlog Turn the vision into actionable work and prioritize what’s important.

Plan And Manage Sprints Define who, when and what needs to be done today to achieve the long-term goals.

I’d love to hear your feedback and how we can improve this resource.

It would be great to someone create a game where you should calculate and create sofa in order to move sofa through the building passages

Hi, thank you for sharing your time with us.

I have this case: 11 months ago I sold my company and obligated to run the company as CEO for the next 12 months (which is ending with September 1st). Also, I invested in another SaaS product and team on the side, but that product is still in private Beta and has 5000+ Non-paid users (and patment gateway will be ready from October). Also, my current salary is pretty much great and I'm doing what I love to do, but still don't want to be an employee, but business owner.

Question: what would you advise me based on your experience with YC founders?
