I remember this trick. Wanted to go back to family classic, but it wasn't there so I just continued with the cancellation instead.

If an attacker got root with recall they might not need to wait the user to type their password and risk detection. The information they want to know might be already in the recall database.

Loved the first edition, it delved into a lot of interesting topics in an easy to understand way.

My guess is that nefarious implementations already could do a lot of questionable or outright illegal things.
