A simple Streamlit application to consolidate OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic models into one chat interface. It includes conversation saving/loading, file uploads, image generation, integrated with Firebase Firestore for conversation storage.
But I had to pay for access to this marketplace, only to have an arbitrary barrier put in place that can be paid to pass..
Isn't the whole review system supposed to promote good quality content?
This change, if genuinely implemented to try and improve app quality, actually only frustrates new developers that are trying to join the ecosystem.
20 people is quite a lot! After getting all my friends and family that use Android testing it, I still needed 10+ more 'testers'.
Okay.. but I have to pay $25 to have access to Google Play Console and submit ID documents, it's not really the same as NPM.
This 20 tester requirement also does very little to actually improve quality or stop 'garbage' from being listed.
It's just going to be one person, with 20 cheap devices or maybe even emulators. Even now, I get 20 'testers' but it's just to pass the requirement, pretty much none of them offer useable feedback. It's also a simple little word game, there isn't much to test...
This is probably the path I will go down, should be easier to get the testers if it's already got some users on the web. Still feels a little unfair that as a new dev, I have to jump through these hoops that existing devs and businesses aren't subjected to.
Play store is the de facto marketplace for Android apps, someone looking for a new game or application will often search the Play store...
Yes it began afaik for any new developers joining after November 2023 for any type of application. If you have an account registered as a Play Store developer before Nov 2023, it's not required...
I've seen anywhere between $5 - $50 for a <50mb application.
Maybe they have the highest number of immigrants, but as a percentage of the population other nations are higher and USA is very far down. Canada, Norway, Sweden are all higher... USA isn't even in the top 50 when looking at total % of the population.

Thing is the 'wealthy' depend on exploitation far out of sight to sustain their lifestyles. A real global guaranteed income would not be 'stealing', it would be a step towards correctly remunerating those at the bottom of the labour force / supply chain. That being said, it's a tragedy that it will never happen and the worst offenders are the ones with the most luxurious lives, squirreling their ill-gotten gains away into overseas trusts.
Particularly at the time of the vaccine rollout, there absolutely was a huge effort across many platforms to mock, silence and ultimately censor individuals. Whether or not there was government collusion, I obviously can't say, but I'd hardly be surprised given the close relationships between media outlets and government officials.
Clearly everyone wasn't being banned, some things were being allowed, but personally I think the conversation was being steered/herded in a way that made one particular point of view more prominent and minimised exposure to alternatives.

I can't contest this ban and it's permanent.
Migrants contribute to the workforce & to the tax intake. It's only an issue if you fail to build the infrastructure required to accommodate the population. You keep framing this as a problem with migrants, when it's a failure of government policy re: building sufficient services. The idea that things would be magically different if we simply had a lower number of migrants is pure fantasy, the situation would likely be even worse.
Consider this. Singapore has a migrant population of 43% vs UK 13%. Singapore has one of the highest home ownership rates in the world. Why? Because of their housing policy. In Singapore you will live longer, be less obese, make twice as much money, less likely to be unemployed, pay less tax, less likely to die at infancy, spend less on healthcare. That's with x4 the amount of immigration. Migration has nothing to do with the problems you're talking about, you could triple migration with no issues if you actually build for it. UK isn't even in the top 20 of countries when looking at migrants as a percentage of the population.
We have an aging population so our tax revenues will drop as less people are in the workforce, less people spending on goods and services. Without migrants we would not be meeting the replacement rates as more people are dying than being born in the UK. Do you understand that we actually need more young people?

Our country is incredibly corrupt, the problems are nothing to do with migration.
We actually desperately need migration given our population demographics shifting to aging citizens, there simply is not enough young people to work & look after all the retirees. Native Brits aren't having large enough families. We have a massive gap in the workforce, even with record low unemployment.
Your analogy is total rubbish & makes no sense. The housing shortage is absolutely due to pure corruption & a failure to build sufficient homes. The government target is to build 300,000 new homes each year - they have failed to hit their targets year after year (by at least 30%). We had Brexit which stemmed EU migration, which we needed to fill huge gaps in our workforce (in the NHS for example).
Having immigration doesn't stop us from increasing the minimum wage, we could vote for policy that increases salary & workers rights regardless of migration.
Migrants, like my father, don't necessarily live in squalor. My father moved here when he was in his twenties, with almost nothing, eventually started a business and then left after the Brexit vote. We were poor, but far from squalor. Your picture of immigrants is clearly tainted.
The housing situation in this country is pathetic, this is for natives and migrants alike. Terrible quality of housing is again not a migrant problem, but exploitative landlords & underfunded & corrupt councils. Which could be changed while still having healthy migration to the country.

To make it with davinci-003 you can store all the conversation history and prefix it to your prompt as you mentioned. It does mean that you're limited to a history of about 3.5k words, which you could summarize into a smaller chunk to help make the conversations longer. You need to consider that you don't have to get everyone on Twitter using your tool... if you can get 500 people paying $10 a month you're making $50k a year...

Not sure it's as much of a problem as you're making it seem though.. likely there can be enough iteration that it would not be distinguishable.
Also lots of mainstream artists ignore copyright anyway (Kanye West etc). Plus you could just use training data that is from public domain stuff if it was really such an issue, there is decades worth of music that are outside of copyright law.

France's energy supply is 70% derived from nuclear power, exporting huge amounts of electricity to the UK. Their system is under immense pressure currently due to heatwaves, causing rivers to dry up and heating the water that is required for cooling. There are other problems being discovered, as the article mentions:

You should have that flexibility. There should be enough housing stock that you can move to another city and not have to worry about struggling to find a place, arranging visits for them to be cancelled or leased before you can even view it. There are parts of the world where government rental housing schemes are extremely successful, it also typically caters for those that would be left with nothing if we didn't intervene with the market. Yes there are laws against discrimination, that landlord was overruled in high court. That does not stop it from happening, in many different forms - there is never ending prejudice and difficulty simply getting a home for young people, disabled, minority backgrounds, immigrants, welfare recipients. The landlords have all the power when it comes to deciding who they allow to rent, they do not have any obligation to tell you why you were refused. Even though the court says it's illegal for him not to rent to certain races, what is stopping him?
We live in a world where it is entirely feasible for every person to have good quality shelter, clean water, food and energy. For the most part, we allow market forces to control the access to goods and services. Wealth is being concentrated, property along with other vital services, are just another asset in the portfolio. It's missing humanity. We need homes, healthcare, water, food.. I think it's about time we prioritise this vs high profit, monetary gain, corporate excess and 'free markets' (they're never really free, always tipped in favour of the owners of capital).
