Some teenagers these days are complete idiots, especially boys, in how they treat their fellow female colleagues/partners.
They think they look cool by hurting the girl's reputation and her feelings in this horrible way, but in fact they bring to light their real character/intentions and this should give a BIG WARNING to anyone who interacts with such fools to depart from them and distrust them.
On the same par, another tragedy in the story is that there are other retarded cretins like this that support such disrespectful acts, which makes me really angry and sad about the character of some of the young people of today's society.
This is great news, why no upvotes?
Seems like FreeBSD is not dying after all.
Innovation through obscurity.
I've only been reading HN constantly in the last two months and some sub reddits like /r/linux /r/programming and /r/cpp.
To me HN is just a ripoff of Reddit.
Any links to the "manufacturers in China"?
I haven't even heard of Instagram before their change in ToS.
Why do you have to trust them in the first place?
I tell you why, because their ToS is malformed otherwise you wouldn't have to trust them, you would only need to agree that the contract you signed with them is respected accordingly, by them as well as by you.
The new ToS seems to imply that you are going to give your house key to a known thief/escaped convict and you are also thrusting him with not stealing anything from your house.
Seriously? How certain is anybody that with the new TOS the thief won't steal anything from their house?
If the thief wasn't going to steal from the house in the first place then why its called a thief that is even authorized to steal your goods?
Why is there such a ToS in the first place if the thief is incapable of stealing?
I think you mean preprocessors.
I think he's completely unaware of the GNU/Linux distributions and the gratis software that comes along with them and the freedoms that that software offers to the user.
" “Free software” means software that respects users' freedom and community. Roughly, the users have the freedom to run, copy, distribute, study, change and improve the software. With these freedoms, the users (both individually and collectively) control the program and what it does for them.
A program is free software if the program's users have the four essential freedoms:
- The freedom to run the program, for any purpose (freedom 0).
- The freedom to study how the program works, and change it so it does your computing as you wish (freedom 1). Access to the source code is a precondition for this.
- The freedom to redistribute copies so you can help your neighbor (freedom 2).
- The freedom to distribute copies of your modified versions to others (freedom 3). By doing this you can give the whole community a chance to benefit from your changes. Access to the source code is a precondition for this.
A program is free software if users have all of these freedoms. Thus, you should be free to redistribute copies, either with or without modifications, either gratis or charging a fee for distribution, to anyone anywhere. Being free to do these things means (among other things) that you do not have to ask or pay for permission to do so. "
Agreed! BitBucket's [http://bitbucket.org/] new UI rocks!

64 GNU/Linux distributions that use KDE. Rock and Roll!
I personally use ArchLinux x86_64 with KDE 4.9.3 => UberAwesome!
Where the heck do you live? What "corporate environments" ?
I work for several years as a software developer in the "corporate world" and I can install whatever the heck I want on my machine.
"it's your job as a designer / developer to make sure your product works for as many people as reasonably possible, and not expect users to jump through hoops (no matter how small) to use it."
I totally disagree. Why it should be my job? Do you want to use my product? Then use the right environment where my product works as it should, otherwise GTFO.
I don't want my product be used by incompetent users. Its 2012, people ought to be educated about technology.
So what?! How much time it takes to install a different/newer browser? I tell you - less than a minute. There.
Have you tried https://www.jetbrains.com/webstorm/ ? I find it quite good at intellisense.
