I wrote about how Mutual reduced the size of our app by 60% with a few simple objective steps. I tried to detail our reasoning and approach for each step of the case. Hope it can be of help or at least an interesting read. If anyone wants me to go into more detail into each of the steps let me know.

Instead of implementing the whole of jQuery core, they could just add some of the features. It seems like that's already being done though (e.g. Element.querySelector()).

I'm 19. I started when I was 14 by hosting and modifying a private server (in Java) for a popular mmorpg.

I have been using desktop Linux for a while.

I use it for everything from development to web browsing and even gaming (I don't dual boot). Off the top of my head I can't think of any Windows software that I would use which does not have an equivalent or better FLOSS alternative.

My main tools are:

* Chromium: Google Docs and Gmail

* Sublime Text 2

* The terminal (URxvt, zsh): Vim, Mplayer

* Transmission

I've tried getting back into Windows but it felt like it was missing something.

She was encouraged to be anything she wanted, not only a "Woman in CS".

It seems like there is more interest in "leveling the playing field" and "balancing the gender ratio" for its own sake than in helping anyone of any gender pursue the career they want.

I'd say a better question would be: Anyone can learn to code or draw, but can anyone really learn to code or draw well?

I love researching things. I spend way too much time on Wikipedia and watching documentaries. That doesn't mean I remember small details about everything.

For example: I remembered reading about the topics relating to some of the test questions, but was unable to answer most of them.

Remembering a bunch of relatively useless facts does not make you a capable professional.

Nice work. I found a couple of bugs:

- Straight after you jump on enemies you're able to pass through some blocks

- You are not able to jump on top of shells and stop them from moving

- You could improve jumping

I think you're confusing Window Managers (WMs) with Desktop Environments (DEs)

Tapatalk is still completely opt-in though. Those forums have to include Tapatalk software within their own.

I don't know if I'm just imagining it, but typing feels a little laggy.

Could it be because it's saving to local storage after every keyup?

I made it save every 2 seconds with setInterval() and it feels a little smoother.

Did anyone also notice that the mentally ill girl depicted drawing on the wall seems to be a Java programmer? She wrote things like "Math.pow(x, y)" and "function place row".

That's pretty awesome. There are games and everything. I wonder if this was built by google employees with their "20 percent time".

Typography. I'm still not sure which types of fonts to use for different situations (titles, paragraphs, attention-grabbing).

You might want to take a look at http://elementaryos.org/ . It's an upcoming GNU/Linux distribution that has a really "pretty face".

While I think that the rise of internet subculture is very interesting from a sociological point of view, I doubt the phenomena is researched enough to warrant a study as narrow and specific as this.

The way many women in tech are treated is not acceptable, and I think that the situation is gradually getting better. That said, there is no reason why we shouldn't suggest that those who get pushed around should stand up for themselves in the time being, who knows, maybe it will speed up the process.

Played through the tutorial, it's pretty good save for the moon gravity jumping.
