Historically speaking the things the rich think are worth spending money on haven’t lined up with what society thinks is best all that often.

Unfortunately it’s generally more complex than that, at least in US law - simply having material nonpublic information isn’t enough. It really matters how you got the information.

The v4 superchargers are supposed to support 800V charging. They’re only just starting to be rolled out, unfortunately, but anyone who can hold out will probably end up okay.
A charge usually takes 20-30 minutes. You get a five minute grace period, then you start getting hit with $1/min idle fees. That’s barely enough time to get from the far reaches of the parking lot to a store and back.
Bringing the food closer to the charging station fixes that. No idea about the drive-in, though.
(Of course it also brings with it the risk of a spot getting ICE’d, which is why charging stations are so far out in the first place. Dunno how they plan to avoid that.)
