The advisory was for the lock being disengaged meaning you would still need to manually move it. it wasn't for being moved by factors such as vibrations also If it was from vibration how would a crash impact not move them back to cut off?

Apple Invites 1 year ago

I had a section in class back in highschool and we were told you should never base you opinions on titles instead you should read the content then come to a conclusion. seeing so many > "anyone can RSVP, regardless of whether they have an Apple Account or Apple device." in the comments proves the problems still exists today.

A brilliant idea some startup accelerator in the EU can create a platform that conforms to EU laws. It can't be that hard, given that the UI hasn't changed much in a decade or more. I can already see it "Hacker news, but hosted in the EU with Swiss privacy and is GDPR compliant".

We now have the three tech giants moving in on nuclear. I think we will have a race to see which SMR provider comes online first even though Nuscale canceled its pilot plant, sending shockwaves through the industry last year, there's a clear demand now. I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft signs with an SMR provider in the coming weeks because the other players have. I would have said it would be Nuscale, but Sam Altman might move them to Oklo.

it's crazy that Intel can't manufacture its own chips atm, but it looks like that might change in the coming years as new fabs come online.

Nobody can check? You can file a request for a time slot on webb if you have proper reasoning then compare your atmospheric composition findings with nasa own findings that they posted also they never claimed that there’s life they said “some astronomers believe that these worlds are promising environments to search for evidence for life on exoplanets.” Also they have other sensors on webb that have no been pointed at the planet yet so I don’t think they will need any money for this purpose yet. Heres the original post https://www.nasa.gov/goddard/2023/webb-discovers-methane-car...

When you realize the world isn't strictly dividen it categories such as blue or red. you might begin to understand why people do what they do. also let me ask you a question since you're obviously for free and open source. how much have you contributed to riscv development or donated to move their cause forward? are you actively maintaining any open projects? because if you read the post the authors stated that they are small with limited funding which is the case for most open source projects.

zelle is the same thing in the US been around for years ran by banks with lots of scamming going around.

Github -> gitlab, vs code -> jetbrains. why use wsl just go to linux. No one forces you to use their products they’re just a better developer experience imo aside from windows. Plenty of competition in the space. The question is does better equal monopoly?

People have been complaining about NASA for decades. In The decade of the apollo missions many people in the civil rights movement were against spending 20b to send someone to the moon and today those same arguments still stand and many people still voice them. Maybe your circle is to small and you haven’t been exposed to diverse opinions.

I mean no one is forcing him to show up to court. if he doesn’t come its a defacto win for the CFTC This will lead to stronger enforcement of US entities interactions with binance or he shows and settle and moves on. The Eu, China, etc… can do the same. Also as stated by cz as per the filing 20-30% of traffic comes from the US that enough grounds for action.

If they did by options they lost all their money due to the greeks not enough volatility, and if they bought futures unless it was 100x or the had many tens of millions they also didn’t make money. Crypto moves like this every day +-~4%. Also there’s zero option platforms for US traders and if they traded futures its coinbase or kraken which are heavily regulated. Why take the risk?

Anyone that was against robinhood/citadel trading against their user base should support this. because trading platforms should not be allowed to trade against their users and binance has been doing it for a while and now we have proof. also they have evidence which something I didn’t expect unlike the SEC they seem well prepared.

not to be that guy, but if this is anything like their harmony OS it's probably just a wrapper around some open source project to pander higher ups with "progress", but unlike android the open source EDA scene isn't as good as its closed counterparts. also with the announcement of culitho and synopsys being an initial partner the performance difference is lightyears ahead.

People have be “predicting” or more like coming to an educated guess using the plethora of public data on these subreddits for many years. I used to be an active poster on wallstreetbets years before the meme stock stuff and there was always people like you who would come after the fact and be like I can’t believe you predicted the future, but they never showed up when I was wrong. It’s only a weird timeline because you probably joined these subreddits after the hype not before.

I don’t think he ever sold it ad new tech its more of a Silicon Valley spin on old tech. And heat pump are in the US but many are hesitant because of the climate in the states can be extreme and as you said NZ has a milder climate compared to the US. for example in my state just last month we hit lows that aren’t supported by any heat pump on the market for days on end but my furnace kept me warm and on the other side of the country temperatures break world record highs every year. Everything op said fits the US market very well heat pump demand is on the rise, alot of people have smart thermostats they’re even provided by some utility companies, the product is a very compelling.

why is HP on the list? its revenues are on par or slightly below competitors in the sector and if you add the enterprise revenues its more of a 1 to 1. Hp consumer revenue 60 billion, HP enterprise revenue 30 billion in comparison to dell 100 billion and lenovo 70 billion in annual revenue the two include enterprise revenues which isn't spun off like with HP. All three are at peak revenues. Aside from that cisco, ubiquiti, nvdia, amd, intel(ish),LAM, AMAT, micron are the best in their fields honestly its seems like EU companies are in shambles not US take a look at ericsson vs huawei idk if the US has any real competitors in telecommunication hardware cisco is more of a networking company nowadays.

all countries have their flaws. Evergrand basically defaulted on their loans and was the equivalent of SVB for real-estate in china even the AUM were similar. The real-estate market is probably the most important market in china especially for the wealthy.also the market should be able to adjust to any rate not only 0 if it’s truly free.

I wonder if the china fisco during peak holiday season was a wake up call for higher ups, and if well see pressure from investor for diversifying supply chains
