I spent 2 months in Vietnam (HCMC) last Nov-Dec, and that was the first thing that surprised me. Not the iPhone5s but everyone seemed to have an iPhone6, and yep I couldn't figure out the economics, but that's the reality (thanks to posts below the economics now make sense).

Then the idea that ulcers are just an infection took hold so the psychogenic manifestations of stress shifted.

It may be that treatments have been developed for those ulcer causing infections. That could be why you're not hearing so much about uclers.

I think the situation might be the opposite of what you're suggesting. It seems ailments that we don't understand are put down to stress. Then we find a physiological cause, and then a cure and then we stop hearing about the issue.

This could be very helpful. I used to have a private tuition company back in my uni days. Keeping parents updated was rewarding but often took a long time.

Having something like this would have been great for all - parents, teachers/tutors and most of all student.

Do you have a specific startup idea? If you do, you could use some of the money you earn and something like elance.com / crowdspring.com to get a Minimal Viable Product up and running. Then you can start testing it out, while still keeping your job. If things are working out, take the plunge, if not, you won't go broke.

If you don't have a specific idea, you could go to hacker meetups, colleges and find groups of people with an idea and a team and join them. Offering to do some work and pay for food, servers etc. - I could sure use someone like that right now ;)

Finally if you already have 4-6 years of a similar role under your belt then you can probably move back into a similar role anytime you wish. But if not, you probably need the years on your resume in case you want back in.

Moral of the story - it's not a binary decision, you can be doing both at the same time.

So maybe the solution is not related to improving the drugs but improving the packaging. How about a packet that allows tablets to only be released at the correct times and records when they are not taken. Then require the patient to submit the packet to the doctor after the course. Draconian I know, but the alternatives are worse.

The current Indian government is run by a bunch of amateurs (if not outright criminals). They keep concocting fake issues to keep people from the real issues. Their days are numbered.

Michael, I suspect you've been using been using the South Asian numbering system all your life . Surely you write 1,2,3,4,5 as and not I, II, III, IV, V ;)

We should setup a payments service that works everywhere, except the US. Revenge ... kidding. Although given how dodgy the PayPal APIs are and that future economic growth is likely to be based outside the US, it might be a very viable business.

I think he's saying, to make progress in a field, find a place where there are experts and work with them.

If "leave without pay" is an option try that. You can then take 2 weeks or maybe even a month to get your product to a working state. From there you can try to recruit a team and raise angel money before you quit your day job.
