There are three types of ADD[1]. That which you describe here sounds a lot like the "Inattentive" type.
Couldn't agree more with this comment. I came here to share these, too. Some of his best work, imo.

outside of social media, inside our IDEs
you seemed to have missed the part where they said 'rather than a psychologist-engineered addiction engine'
This happened surprisingly fast. Replacing Iger with Chapek, unfortunately makes perfect sense, and has been whispered about for a couple of years now.
Nearly every decision Chapek has made in his past leadership roles at Disney has made them significantly more profitable. At the same time, nearly every decision he's made has made the customer experience for their end users worse. It should be interesting to see how this plays out.

I'm curious.. Can you please provide more information or sources on these concepts? I've always had a hunch this was the case
You mention UT99/2003/2004, did you play competitively by chance? I miss the good old days of gaming, clans, ladders, forums & IRC.
If it weren't for UT's modding & hacking community I wouldn't have got in to this industry. A lot of people I know have similar stories.
just curious what the name of his shop is? I'm always looking for good neopolitan pizza in this town.
just wait for aftermarket hours
You say MTA, so is this booth in NYC? Where exactly is this Lay's spying machine so I can steer clear.
if you think for one minute that FB isn't going to be able to link this back to your personal FB account you're a fool
There are definitely pockets of this out there, smaller communities/channels on IRC still have this feel.
As an avid golfer may I say that this was exactly what I was looking for when coming to the comments. Thanks for posting these resources.
Etsy has over 150 engineers, all living and working in NYC; of course they are 'EXTREMELY' well paid.
because labor laws.
He's talking about work experience and that requires a work environment. Not the semblance of one.
is there a video of this presentation by any chance? I can't seem to find the JS tests in that repo either.
what if they fail to intercept you? free lunch?
and this is bad, why?
argh, so nerve-wracking
were you part of any communities? mpc, ogc, game-deception?
For the lazy programmers who don't want to write some quick JS to simulate what a dichromat perceives as green:
click on the page, toggle between red & green with any keypress
A lot of people posted their results to twitter, you can get an idea of where you fall in avg by giving this a glance over:

thank you for posting this, I am also asthmatic and would like a better preventative measure instead of depending on having a dose left in my inhaler. I will be sure to give this a try to see if it helps any.

Those are the number of actions per second per each service. I am surprised that for an audience such as hackernews that no one knew to read the source
Sure thing, thought I haven't had a reason to go to Utah before, but you never know
