Can you say more about the API calls, what would that be exposing of the user? I think it's difficult since most new apps are using Electron, or V8 scaffolds... but really nice idea

You have posts on how to use it better, how it's so good that it may turn against us, and things built on top of it. I don't think this is going to stop. Especially with the pace that OpenAI has shown by shipping GPT-4, updating the models, plugins, and so on. They may be fine-tuning GPT-5 right now.

There's already some work to that direction with cloudflare workers... but I really differs on why people would look for that; in a bit more convoluted case, for example, it would be destined for browsing nested pages of instagram, facebook, reddit, and so on... so it's bit difficult to that, especially with things that require auth...

A backend most definitely is worth 35 mere dollars. Though (you guessed it) it depends. It depends what you are going to do with it since maybe you can get a static site with a JSON shipped to the client and usually achieve similar results.

But, consider that by buying the cloud service you get: - database - probably a server with their hosted thingy (maybe a node.js server) - maybe some monitoring microservices as well

The question is then, - Does the time of setting the stuff up yourself, and the probable issues that come with it -- are they worth the marginal 15 dollars? This questions gets you the answer.

(Not to mention that some images of supposedly OSS microservices usually are different that their cloud service.)

That's the guy behind Kick... it's honestly hilarious he lives in this kind of contradiction which is very interesting to see from the outside.

The thing is that it's super close to the migration of various streamers (some with a very high viewership) to a new platform. Though I also take it a bit at face value, in the sense of he was waiting for this and tired of all the shit that comes with Twitch.

I want to highlight another point of this post:

This is something I do regularly, I listen to interviews/conversations of people that have nothing to do with what I do, and let me tell you: I learn a ton... I really, really recommend it...

Honestly, it's not that surprising... from an outsider, Twitch has been incredibly mismanaged in the way that they treat their content creators. And now that Youtube is robust enough to allow streaming (also with the features that streaming has) it's catching up to them.

The most curious is the alienation of creators which were raking up like 60k viewers per stream by the threat of banning. If you have ever seen one of these streams, the creators are so limited in what they can do.

Another shock was this new Kick platform which is managed by a creator itself, and apparently is doing quite well on the surface (wondering how their balance sheet looks) but I think this is what Twitch needs: a creator at the wheel.

This post changed my opinion completely on its matter. This post is one of the greats, I recommend it to anybody

Yes, it's actually really common. Not only for interviewing but for important meeting as well.

Besides alcohol, there are other alternatives:

- beta blockers as you've mentioned (though you really need to know your normal blood pressure and/or consult with a doctor).

- L-Theanine works really well (without any coffee).

- nicotine (hit-or-miss since it's an upper for some and downer for others, these are cigars no cigarettes, should not contain any additives but tobacco alone).

Not to even mention all of their investors (including teacher's pension funds for example) who have already marked their investment to 0.

This guy is one of the greatest pieces of shit to ever walk the earth; just imagine the sheer panic of one user being unable to withdraw their funds in FTX, then multiply that by a thousand.

To clarify the comment (and this being contingent on every user of FTX getting his money back which it appears it's going to be so) SBF was playing 5 billion dollar hands of poker because he was winning with lower dollar value hands than that, problem is that he kept raising the stakes until he went bust.

I doubt any exchange/bank could save themselves by facing the extremely bulky and fast withdrawals in the span of hours that FTX was facing; the only play there was to save face while avoiding locking withdrawals as much as possible e.g. the binance play (obviously horrid but it did buy some time.)

Besides that, the net worth of SBF and Alameda being denominated in FTT and using customer funds (unproven as of now) to make more gambles is obviously terrible, and here everyone is to free to shit on him all they want, but the point is, the EA community shitting on him? Having Sam donated more than a hundred milli to various orgs? mind you that he still is a good poker player, likely to come back, and cover all users funds.

SBF was a very positive force for EA, now that he's down everyone piles on him? shameless

Protonmail is also expensive, I hope they do A/B testing to see how many deals they lose for just having annual pricing (same price but 6 months may have more demand)

I use Mailspring (previously I used Nylas Mail) just because it's what I'm used to... they do have neat features like pixel tracking (when your email is open by your recipient by sending an HTTP request to, say, an image) which is interesting.

But, to be honest, I think that the product space is not too big for email, we already communicate with so many tools that emails are left for just formal stuff (in my case) support tickets, contracts, updates, etc... there are but a few angles like privacy, but they kind of seem overcrowded (others are custom domain names, very intuitive UX, very good info about leads etc...)

I think you would have to get a really original angle, a true niche, something that has passed over everyone, and then the virality of it... I think intuitive UX is necessary but not sufficient; interested to see what you make of it, it's a good problem to solve
