Is Endicia capable of accessing a sales database on a remote MySQL server?

I submitted a similar idea as a last second YC application.

Basic points of differentiation were that it would be fully extensible (add/remove any input fields), and that it would have a killer API.

The API would allow you to submit issues from anywhere you please: you could write a plugin for Eclipse (or favorite IDE) or you could widgetize it into a js include file so people could submit issues directly from your web page (think beta testers).

I live in the city north side - Lincoln Square. What are you guys working on? Web apps I presume?

Nevermind, I can just use htaccess to redirect image paths when I am developing on my local computer.

I think menuism.com is doing something similar. They are based in Chicago and are targeting only select cities at first.

We use Subversion, so each developer has a local copy of the code on their machine. They also each have a copy of the database and table structure. What is the best way to manage changes in the database/table structure so that each developer is using the latest db version?

I am looking for something like the quality equivalent of Agile Web Development with Rails, but for CSS.

Have you checked out Code Igniter? It is a php framework that implements the MVC design pattern. Forcing the seperation of the different layers makes things much "prettier" in my opinion.

There seems to be much talk thrashing the web language incumbent PHP. What exactly bums you out? and why is your language better?

Are there any limitations with Google Checkout? Such as accepting credit cards only in US? Heard a rumor about that...

I have been researching this for a while, and have been mostly confused. The obvious answers I have seen are authorize.net or paypal's services. But what is the ideal setup for a new company with not too much money in the bank?
