I want to literally code right alongside my employees and pay them fair wages even if we make no money.

I suspect the price will be directly subsidized to keep folks happy. Since we’re in wacky world this subsidy will be inconsistent depending on where you are.

It’s actually not hard to hack this together as a .net application and run it on a laptop, but I suspect your target market has a bit of money to spend.

Learning piano is already largely an upper middle class active and after that what’s another 200$ or 300$.

A higher end digital piano is easily over 2k.

Making sure your target market has money is the key take away.

What happens when they install Ubuntu and the Wifi doesn't even work ? An experienced Linux user might figure it out.

A new user would, very reasonably, assume Linux doesn't work and reinstall Windows.

Linux is great if you win the hardware support lottery.

I've had several laptops where audio just doesn't work even on rolling releases. Or the screen freezing up constantly.

This was all with relatively new hardware within the last year or so.

My issue with the Linux community is if you bring this up it's all of a sudden the fault of everyone but Linux.

The end user should of picked better hardware.

The hardware OEMs should of shipped Linux support.

The end user is lazy for not installing an RC kernel.

Macs are great, but my current workhorse computer has a 2TB SSD, and only cost 550$ with the SSD upgrade.

Airpods , which are above and beyond the most popular Bluetooth buds don't have user replaceable batteries. You have to ask Apple to do so at 50$.

Apple did this as an outrageously anti consumer move. And they've made billions of airpods in doing so. Then they brought Beats which sound worse than 30$ sennheiser HD201s.

There's literally no benefit to the end user.

Dongles are a great way to put stress on a single point of failure. If your USB c port stops working your phone can't be charged anymore and is useless.

I have more Bluetooth earbuds then I can count. At 30$ a pair they almost always go bad within 6 months. My wired headphones work for years.

It's not like my opinion matters that much. Literally the only flagship phone with a jack is a 1300$ Sony Xperia.

You know the neat thing about phones with an audio jack, you can use Bluetooth or wired headphones.

Apple figured out they could print money by selling AirPods and now every phone brand has some crappy Bluetooth headphones they want to sell.

Thus most phones don’t have jacks anymore. I don’t see any advantage to the end consumer.

Bluetooth headphones last as long as their batteries do. Wired headphones, particularly ones with replaceable cords, last forever.

I'm not sure why your being argumentive here, it's a known fact that Bluetooth has to compress everything down and sacrifices quality to do so.

For 100$ I can get wired headphones that don't try to squeeze my head and order to do some noise canceling nonsense. This is really annoying for myself, it's like every single Bluetooth headphone has to add noise canceling and they have to sacrifice comfort to do so.

I have some $70 wired headphones from AliExpress that literally beat anything I've personally tried wireless up to like $300 or so.

I have a budget android phone with a jack and it's miles more convenient than a dongle or Bluetooth headphones which are never comfortable to me.

Access to therapy is usually gate kept to those with expensive insurance plans. Medicare, if it covers it at all can easily have a 1 year wait list for therapy.

Who is Andrew to say this, Oven got an exit. As far as their investors and owners are concerned that’s the only real reason to exist.

Assuming ( big assumption to be fair) all the early Bun employees got a fair amount of equity they’re all rich now. That’s a much better outcome than most startups.

At my first startup we had 6 day work weeks. I still remember staying up until 2 or 3am manually installing Postgres again and again. All we got was a paycheck. Although for me I went from a minimum wage earning college dropout to a 6 figure software engineer( at a new company).

As for actual coding… LLMs will always do better work in a well known stable language than something relatively new.

I had to give up on trying to get LLMs to write working Haxe code. Haxe is too niche for LLMs to handle.

I personally can’t stand Rust, it feels like it’s designed for machines to write. Zig is designed for humans. Outside of a 200k+ job offer you won’t see me learning Rust.

Zig is rather pleasant. I can imagine writing a side project with it.
