Most of it is because of Atlanta district. Palmetto is a major crisis that everyone is just ignoring. Prior to this year we never had much issues at all. Thousands of packages with maybe 1 missing because it was stolen after delivery. The problem now is all of our missed packages are sitting in a bin at palmetto indefinitely pushed into a corner. DeJoy needs to be fired but no one wants to do their job I guess.

Stay at home dad, part-time barista at Starbucks, and potter. I used to be heavily involved in the tech world, now I just observe from the outside.
I mail products every day through USPS just like a million other businesses. We resend about 1/25 packages every single day due to it being indefinitely delayed beyond some reasonable time line. We just eat the loss and move on, USPS is absolute disaster right now. I didn't even think about voting mail in ballots. That is going to be a major problem if the vote is close.
My son has been competing since 6th grade. They got 2nd place at states and loved it, so intense watching them play.
Get the school to start a Vex Robotics competition team. My son has been in it for 3 years in middle school and he is absolutely hooked.
I had a top tier Samsung phone the s22ultra. Within a little over a year the service basically stopped working. Samsung had tons of reports of other s22ultra with the same problem. Samsung basically said no refund no exchange. You can trade it in for 400 towards a new Samsung. This was a 1000+ dollar phone that barely made it past warranty.
I will never ever use a Samsung again. It was my fault for not checking the warranty. I should have known better when a 1000+ flagship phone only has a one year warranty it can't be very good, right?
I now just buy cheap phones cause that experience ruined me. Their support was so bad and they didn't care at all about the forums of people with the exact same issues. I don't know how this company is top seller. This surprises me so much.
Exactly this. Thank you. I have a bee friendly yard in suburban neighborhood with HOA. I keep the front streetside nice and neat for the HOA, but the side yard and back yard is full of clover, a plot of wildflowers, blueberries, blackberries, apples, and a lot of flowers for birds and butterflies. The total amount of effort and cost for all this? Maybe a few hundred dollars over a few years and very minimal work. Turns out that the stuff bees like are basically weeds and will establish and come back with basically no effort at all. The hardest part is stopping the stupid bermuda grass from overtaking it.
I cannot wait for my wildflower plot to shoot up. This year I turned over about 10m x 10m of bermuda grass and sewed a southeastern wildflower mix. I left the center of it grass and a path into it. I plan to go lay down and meditate in the wildflower patch while the bees zoom over head.
My son and I both cried. Imagine going to a Godzilla movie and then crying. I am huge Godzilla fan and it was the best one I have ever seen.
It is frustrating isn't it to watch people back when we played idolize it as some glorious career, when it reality it is probably one of the most stressful, depressing and negative jobs mentally a person can have. The variance and amount of hands required to overcome it with skill can be a living nightmare to work through. I can't imagine playing when you played. It was pretty easy back when I did it, but still taking peoples money by isolating bad players with addictions wore me out after a while. I am happy to have played and the skills and determination I learned there helped me throughout the rest of my life. I run my own business from home now and I am much happier. I am glad you found some peace as well.
I played back during the glory days of 2000-2004 and through the net-teller shutdown for America. Back then the money was absolutely absurd, because the game was very new online and very few people understood basics. This combined with the massive amount of marketing that was going on for television, tons of people were addicted to the thrill of the game.
Every single year the game became more difficult as more people studied and I continued to move up into higher and higher stakes. At one point I looked at how much money I had made/compared to how much I hated what I was doing and decided that I was done. People around me never understood why I quit because they knew me and the amount of income I had made, but the thing is no one can understand what it is to live on a grinders schedule like that.
I would get up at 10-11AM study the hands from the previous day to make sure I was playing correctly mentally, read over new material, review a partners hands as we both did each others to confirm playstyle and decisions were correct, around 3PM I would start scouting tables across various levels looking for soft players that I had datamined information about. Around 4-5PM I would start playing and continue to add tables with soft players and immediately leave any tables that didn't contain any soft players or they had busted. This table hopping and monitoring is absolutely exhausting, but critical to being as profitable as possible.
Repeat this until about 11PM. Then go to sleep until 4AM, get up and play against the players on the other side of the world as they were starting to play loose. Play against them until about 7AM, then go to sleep and get up around 11. Repeat. Do this for 4 years and almost anyone will decide enough is enough even with the amount of income I was making back then. The only rest I took was on weekends, just to remove myself mentally from the exhaustion.
Of course poker is much tougher now then it was then. I wouldn't even dream of trying to play now. I was maybe upper 85-90% player, now I would be in the lower 50%.
I am confused how do I see the places I can stay?
I know a lot of people above don't think it means much, but I built a machine from scratch(for my business equipment) with no knowledge of any of this stuff using Arduino and it was one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had.
There is something to be said about making hardware and software interface so easy like they have done. I would have never achieved this in the 3 month period as quickly as I did without Arduino. Super excited for this new Uno.
Awesome. I didn't know this! Thanks.
Ah excellent. It was under the Fi App.
I am not sure I am even going to be able to get calls without wifi calling on. Kind of a nightmare.
Thanks for your help.
I am not sure I understand this. I have a S22 Galaxy Ultra. I do not see anywhere in my settings to turn on or off wifi-calling. Did we already get an update disabling this? I have googled this for about 10-15 minutes now and none of the results match anything to do with my screen settings.
Yea I mean I get that, but I had my pixel 2 for over 5 years. Without repairing it at all. I assume my samsung S22U will also last 5+ years. So I just don't see the point of repair-ability if the support cycle is only 3 years. What is going to break in 3 years of a cell phone unless its very poorly made?
Supported for 3 years. LOL. Just don't get this one bit.
The time consumption was a big one for me. It is easy to underestimate how much time 30 minutes a day is in 10 years. People always talking about how they have no time etc. But if you can gain 30 minutes a day for something you really enjoy you can become so skilled at it and really enjoy it deeply much faster if you abandon any interruptions to that thing.
I feel like the issue with social media is you are not really social at a level that is helpful or relationship building. It is more of an observation of your friends doing things. That really isn't a friendship. A friendship is about connection and communication on a level deeper than what social media provides.
This is amazing!
Hi. I am not bragging, just sharing opposite experience. I found it refreshing to view things in my own light and no be influenced by others as much. Observing my friends or social media people doing things and living their life was not really living mine, so I just self corrected every time I noticed until I didn't have to anymore. Sorry for the late reply, just now checking HN after my original post.
For sure. The only time I watch TV is when I am eating because my hands are occupied. I guess the other time is when my wife or kids want to watch a movie together.
I talk to my friends via text every so often to check in with them, and I use discord to talk to daily friends. The problem with social media is you don't check in with friends, you observe them and that isn't really a friendship.
No. I found that if I used blocking programs, I would just unblock them. So I just ended up making a stance on what was most important in my life. I tried to fill any voids with something that I needed to do or something I enjoyed doing. The moment I would open it I would be like, NO, do this instead.
Eventually it just became natural to do other thing instead.
I am in the opposite boat. Deleted all my stuff never looked back. Best decision. This is probably the only social thing I read now; its like 5 minutes a day to scan the front page, then close it.
I still have discord, but I am super careful to make sure I only stay in channels when I need them and then immediately leave when I no longer have a use for it.
It is hard to know what you enjoy. I am 38 and I work a part time job and run a business from home. Is it exactly what I want to do? Absolutely not, but does it pay the bills, yes. Does it let me be home with my family more, yes. I have a degree in economics and turned down so many awesome jobs from schoolmates who wanted me to work with/for them. I think they define me as unsuccessful because I don't make X dollars a year like they do. I make significantly less than I could make, but I enjoy my life a lot more than they do I think. I have less fancy things, but more enjoyable moments.
Life is mysterious, confusing and lovely all at the same time. Focusing on the impossible big picture of what you should be doing, and where you should be is a trap. Enjoy each unique day the best you can. Sure you don't know what you need to do to be successful tomorrow, but I am sure you can think of things you can do today to be successful; even if its just helping a neighbor or a parent. Define success for each day based on its circumstances. When you fail, write down why and move onward.
Every little success adds up to a new mindset.
Good luck.
I am not sure you have failed at all. You just haven't discovered what you want to do. It sounds to me like you are an adventurist, hardworking, never give up kind of person. Life isn't defined as money = success, or job = success. People who live that way are no more happy than you seem to be right now.
Instead of searching for a job, search for a passion. You seem to have parents who want to support you and believe in you. That is more than most have.
I don't know where to tell you to start, but if anything be a little easier on yourself. The fact you made this post alone shows that you don't want to quit, which is a major factor in being successful.
You wrote what I came to write. The entire reason they have all these things is so you give up.
I hope we get some updates in Adobe the address the issue of data merging and downsizing text based on user input to fit a field box. It is incredible that simple things like that are not easy to do natively in the app.
Hi. I know you are going through a lot. I went through cancer two times and was told I could never have children again due to the excessive chemo before transplant etc. It was a very hard time for me mentally as children were always something I wanted deeply.
I was talking with someone about this and he said to me, what defines a child as your son or daughter? Maybe think about this for a while and then talk with your spouse about what reasons she doesn't want a child? Maybe it is a fear of childbirth, maybe she doesn't want to nurse, or deal with a 3 year old. There are many young wonderful children at all ages that could use a loving father and mother.
Hey just want to say thanks a ton for making this. My son and I went out side and laid on the patio watching the starlink sats pass by and it was neat. We never realized that they were there.
