You make a fair enough point, the market size of bitcoin users is still very small. However, the technology it provides is real, and IMO, a valid solution to this problem. (even if it's not the only solution; it's not uncommon to accept multiple payment methods.)

Those that want to donate with bitcoin can easily google how to buy it, and will discover it's easier than ever to acquire. (in some cases, using paypal!)

Unfortunately the down-voters of my comment disagree. Until they present their argument against bitcoin, I assume they are only being ignorant.

Have you considered using bitcoin? If you have considered, but dismissed it, would you mind answering why bitcoin wouldn't work for your business?

One guy named Bernard von NotHaus created the "Liberty Dollar" and is now facing a 45 year prison sentence. After a little googling, it's unclear why exactly he is being punished, but this how one article summed it up:

"Congress has exclusive power to coin money in the U.S. and to regulate its value, according to the Treasury Department."

Since I don't consider using SSH "fiddling", I don't know what you mean, and I'd guess that most developers don't think twice about how to use SSH. (If they did, they're not much of a developer in my book).

It's ironic to me that the most difficult part was having to jail-break my iphone. Apple certainly doesn't make my life any easier.

FWIW, using only ubuntu, I did both of these things last month to create a Christmas DVD of home movies and cell phone video clips.

Without much fuss, I transfered the video files via ssh from my jail-broken iphone, then edited, mastered and burned the DVDs using kdenlive. It was much easier than I expected.

Modafinil 16 years ago

I asked my doctor for a Modafinil prescription. She refused, but gave me a free one-week sample of Nuvigil instead. It was great. I made the sample last for months by taking a half pill only when I felt I needed it.

I've had similar conversations with colleagues. I love the idea and hope to someday try it.

One method I like is to use a simple agile/scrum type project where the product backlog is crowdsourced.

"vi" is missing.

Also the two handed "vim".
