This looks nice, but there is nothing that explains why I should invest in it over any of the other dozen note-taking apps that support markdown. Why should I pay for this rather than stay with Obsidian? I'm not hating on this tool, I'm advising the developer they need to be more aggressive in convincing me it's worth the investment in money and time to make the switch.

This is a huge problem in Pennsylvania also, but most of the municipalities have abdicated significant maintenance responsibilities to HOAs. They refuse to take over roads, retention ponds, and common land areas requiring the HOA to cover maintenance. Snow removal from "public" roads and landscaping of "common areas" is a significant cost for HOAs. If the municipalitiies are forced to take these dutues over it's going to be a huge hit to their budgets. I'd think this would be a hard sell to most politicians in PA.

I have completed three SANS courses and hold two GIAC certifications. Yes, they are unreasonably expensive. But you know that going in.

But I have no idea what this guy is talking about otherwise. He repeatedly claims "content misalignment" and "exam misrepresentation". The courses I have completed were wholly aligned with real-world application. And as far as the exams...they are open books and open notes. And you get practice exams that provide a pretty nice roadmap of the actual test.

There is a move to rename the crime to "financial grooming" because the term "pig butchering" is an intentional form of victim shaming. Anyone who is still using the term pig butchering should be immediately discredited.

Long time adjunct instructor here - it's pretty easy to tell when a student is writing above their level or not within their tone and style. A lot of times, I can tell the work is not the students; maybe not AI-created, but definitely created by someone else.

I'd like to see the actual paper. Turning a student in for plagiarism is a serious action and not taken lightly. I think the instructor had other clues besides machine alerts.

I use both Notability and Apple Notes. I tried Good Notes and Notability just worked better for me. Even though it cost more.

I'm a note taker and I got tired of having hand written notes scattered all over and never being able to find the note I needed. So took a leap and purchased an iPad Air and an Apple Pencil 2. I carry it with me and make all my notes there. I use it way more than I ever imagined. I use the Paperlike screen protector to make it feel more like writing on a notebook. And it has all the added benefits of an iPad.

There is a fine line between stupidity and enlightenment. The problem with this theory is determining who is the stupid, who is the enlightened, and who are the evil.

Trump voters think Biden supporters are stupid and being manipulated by evil. Biden voters think the same about Trump supporters! Arguments can be made for both sides and backed by data, both scientific and anecdotal.

Only time and history reveal the truth. It's really hard to determine in real time. Those that felt the earth was round were viewed and stupid and guided by evil at one point in histotry.

Not in the last week, but I've had to stop using Apple Notes because it absolutely eats battery. Use Activity Monitor to check energy usage and I bet Notes is your culprit.

The vast majority of these exams are done under the authority of a search warrant issued by a valid court. Being compliant within any of those frameworks does not make an organization secure. It's a good place to start, and will make the auditors happy, but assuming that (compliance equals secure) is a huge mistake.

What everyone misses is that they don't care they are violating the law. It doesn't matter. They will pay whatever fines or verdicts result. Conformity is their goal...at whatever cost! The message is clear...get in line or you're next.

"3%, 5%, or custom tip" ... ah no. Imagine dropping $1000 on a new iPhone and then being asked by the salesperson for a 3% tip. The potential of being confronted with that would cause me to just avoid the store altogether. I'll drive the few miles to a neighboring store, order online, or in the worst case go to Best Buy. If that goes through the store will be shut down within a year.
