If we're going to parrot outdated legislation, let's also force all automobiles to be classified as horses & carriages, so they can be taxed in accordance to the carriage act of 1794.
I often wonder if it's in the best interest of humans to exterminate bats. Seems like it's only a matter of time until the next horrendous virus, created by bats, wreaks havoc.
It's because 98% of the people on here haven't actually used DeFi. The most they've done is bought and sold a little btc or eth on coinbase. The ah-ha moments come from real use.
Anything that overruns the body will kill in diverse ways.
Cancer does the same thing. This isn't something new and terrifying...
A supercomputer probably couldn't model the exact way a terminal cancer patient will die.
It's only immoral to question the validity of a good cause on the pretense that there's something worse happening out there somewhere...
yep. My first thought was why the hell they didn't they use the word acceleration for better readability.
Sorry but please try to use something in an ecosystem before you bash it. Little of what you're saying is true in the least.
CDP owners the only buyers of DAI?! DAI is on every dex, with pairs for a ton of assets. Try out Uniswap...
Exactly. Very few people get this. Fahrenheit is better for communicating temperatures in daily life.
Plus we can be more precise in our language due to the expanded scale. e.g. We can say 62 degrees F, rather than 16.6667 degrees C.
Thank you for bringing some basic logic back to the table.
People love to imagine that odd phenomenon have simple solutions. This whole "tether was the sole cause of the bitcoin bubble" theory is completely ridiculous.
Go into a random bar in December of 2017 and you would hear people talking about btc and altcoins...
Look up zero-knowledge proofs. Solves this problem. Blockchain is the only legitimate way to carry out voting, imo.
How is this mud slinging article so high on hacker news? This guy is just like every other troll who attempts to forge a name for themselves by tearing down other people's hard work.
Just because seemingly rational humans wouldn't buy at such a price isn't the same as "no human would buy." I remember reading tweets of someone angry at coinbase because they bought a ton at $8000 and tried to sell at $9000 but was unable to. Bitfinexed makes a lot of outrageous leaps in logic.
That was beautiful.
A slower pace of life allows a person to focus more, in my opinion. I've lived in SV but I live in Tahoe now and get way more done programming from the mountains.
Level Frames is printing and framing these now! (Disclosure: I'm a founder) https://www.levelframes.com/collections/visions-of-the-futur...
I agree with you about Shogun. I think the transformative properties of that book relate to the Samurai mindset.
I wanted to know this as well and looked up the research paper. It's called "KIC 8462852"
Indeed. I'm also interested in learning about these mythical non-california places.
This seems like a step in the right direction. I think we all intuitively know that the current global nature of CSS is plain wrong.
A system like this would make it much easier to swap in new ui elements to an app without worrying about breaking styles elsewhere.
Good point. If you want to have other NASA photos printed and framed, we have a great tool to do this: https://www.levelframes.com/photos
Just upload the photo and we will provide you with a suitable size range to choose from for a great print quality (based on resolution of your upload). We then print, frame and ship it to your door in a week.
I created all sorts of honeypots (time based, hidden fields) and they quickly became worthless. As soon as the Russian bot networks target you, honeypots won't do anything to stop them.
Captcha has been the only thing that actually works. I will never use honeypots ever again. The headaches caused by those Friday night attacks aren't worth it.
Congrats to Roon and Ghost! Looks like a good match. I hope to see some Roon inspired features in Ghost in the near future :)
I don't understand the appeal of that show. I almost cringe every time I see a clip, and the popularity suggests that the world actually thinks nerds are like that.
I'd recommend Hyperion Cantos. I recently discovered this gem and I'm blown away by how good it is. Has all of the elements of a good sci-fi world: AI, interconnected worlds via a farcaster network, and a mythical creature called the Shrike.
You guys both work at home and you are still married? Congrats. That usually strains a lot of relationships.
