How would you know how difficult his job is? It's not easy to run a company, let alone a hugely successful one responsible for a vast amount of assets.

Never made anything, just leant money to companies that weren't as rich as him and his cronies, to get a share of profits for doing nothing.

Providing capital to companies helps them grow which in turn helps add value to an economy. And it's not even like it's easy to lend money because this is an inherently risky process so requires a lot of hard work and intelligence to perform sustainably.

I'm curious as to why you're so judgemental of him and presumably by logical extension of your arguments: capitalism in general.

I agree - I am overthinking it a bit. Kudos to the poster for publishing something and it getting to front page. I suppose where my trouble comes from is that my bar is different. However, indeed, one bar isn't necessarily better than another.

this is one of the most unsubstantiated claims and blog posts I've ever seen. How something can be presented as a "favorite desktop" with this little justification, and a heavy focus on a few features which provide such little value to most of the population, is absurd to me. This is not a useful feature comparison for 99.999999% of people. However, it seems to have sparked some good discussion here so I guess that is valuable!

I find it difficult to disagree with anything you said in this particular comment :) however I do think each instance you mention in this message is quite different to the topic at hand, regarding the big tech data machine. Additionally, I think I would rather our UK level of privacy regarding healthcare data than the commercialised free for all in the US. One counterpoint could be that Palantir got a significant amount of UK NHS data.

So you are projecting sociopathy on those that choose to keep their lives more private than you? Like you said, basic personal details are essentially public knowledge anyway. Where do you draw the line personally on what should be private?

claude code is a nightmare compared to cursor. terminal is not an appropriate UX unless you want to do stuff from your phone in a pinch. the main thing they got right is selling the idea of vibing to skeptical engineers by making it a CLI. i think it has more sensible defaults than cursor though which is another reason folks like it out of the box. cursor with a planner/executor system prompt works much nicer and is way less destructive. cc more for vibing IMO
