Same here. I would have used this pretty much anywhere.

I started doing 3D on the Amiga so I grew up using for the most part Lightwave and later moved to Softimage (until those cunts at Autodesk killed it). I also managed to get a copy of Maya 1.0 beta (it was 0.9x something) from a friend that had friends at a big studio.

I remember how everyone was very into 3DSMax for the longest time. Then everyone was into Maya. Briefly some people even switched to Modo.

Blender has come a long way from v2.x where some people started to use it. It's brilliant seeing how many people have adopted it. I also noticed a strange shift in knowledge. Like something has been lost in translation. Many 3D concepts are getting rediscovered today by a generation that never heard of 3DSMax, LW, SI, etc. It's a fascinating.

Orion is awesome but I wish they also made a Windows version.

It's much, much worse than both of those. And we view it more like, only 1/3 of Americans have voted against this while 1/3 voted for it and 1/3 was ok with that. So yeah, the resentment and anger towards the US and it's citizens is growing.

It isn’t. I mean yeah gateway is what you described. But the functionality is also included in Jetbrains IDEs and doesn’t require any manual install on the server. It installs its own thing exactly like VSCode does.

I think the latest Jetbrains tools do the same or similar things. They also install their own server on the target machine and connect to that. And I mean it's Jetbrains, so again, closed source tools. But it's not Microsoft so nobody is talking about it I guess.

I used to have issues with VPNs but it’s been a long time ago. Works flawlessly now.

No but I have a microfreak that has something similar :) It's cool but buttons and knobs are better.

In my hometown in Istria you can find the lion of Venice on many buildings. And pretty much everyone to this day will rather speak in the Venetian dialect, than Croatian.

I moved to Copenhagen a couple of years ago. Still learning Danish but you can get by with knowing only English without any problem. Pretty much everyone can understand you.

Living in Copenhagen as well. Came in the comments to find exactly something like this :) We are privileged more than most in this regard.

I live in Denmark and I've been to Stockholm and I'll be going to Vienna as well. There was a lot of Americans in Sweden for those three tour dates. Not as much as Paris or (probably) London but still very noticeable specially at restaurants, museums and hotels. I think for Paris it was something like 20% of Americans.

How will that work considering Steam is banning any game with AI content. Or at least it did until now.

I got into CoQ only recently but I've been enjoying it immensely. What a fantastic game!

We had one at our school but I never got the chance to use it. It was for older kids only and I got assigned to the ZX Spectrum with the others :) Not that I'm complaining.

I've been a fan and user of trackers since Octamed on the Amiga :) Renoise is an amazing DAW and my favorite piece of music software.

It's been my default file manager since the Amiga days of the early 90s. I do love TC and have been using it at work a lot on and off but DOpus is forever.

Back in the days of the Amiga, me and a friend were in high school and we were obsessed with Formula 1GP from Microprose so we took a couple of joysticks apart and we built ourselves the pedals and a wheel with gear shifts. It was pretty trashy looking but worked remarkably well.

I had the same book and Slackware 2.0 was also my first distro. I think the book is still in some box at my parent's house.

I remember trying to figure out how to compile the kernel for everything in my desktop.
