Is the source code available? It would be interesting to apply this to reporting on other topics.
As far as suggestions, it would be great to see an explanation of each problem when hovering over it in the text. Also, the colors for the "Object", "Counterfactuals", and "Accident" problems are difficult to distinguish for color-deficient individuals.
Ted Cruz is married to Heidi Cruz, a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs [1]. I'm not sure what his angle is but he clearly has a vested interest that may not align with the little guys.
You only need a driver's license to meet the medical requirements, but in the US you still need a sport pilot's license to fly light sport, which is most of a "full" private pilot's license.
"Kevin Gallant, of Summerside, P.E.I., had part of his small intestine removed after he swallowed a bristle from a barbecue brush.
"I was very ill, probably as close to death as you want to be," he said from his home in Summerside, P.E.I.
"The barbecue brush bristle had started to move, so it was trying to come through the wall of my small intestine. So I was told I was very fortunate that they found it, because it would have just pierced through the small intestine into one of my major organs until it found a spot that it would have just killed me."
He still uses a bristle brush, but inspects the barbecue thoroughly after using it."
Does this mean that users will no longer be able to MITM most apps on their own phone by installing a custom cert and proxying all requests through another machine?
User-added CAs
Protection of all application data is a key goal of the Android application sandbox. Android Nougat changes how applications interact with user- and admin-supplied CAs. By default, apps that target API level 24 will—by design—not honor such CAs unless the app explicitly opts in. This safe-by-default setting reduces application attack surface and encourages consistent handling of network and file-based application data.
It seems like a major drawback to this approach is that the address for nearby locations have nothing in common. That makes it harder to get a sense of where something is based on the address alone.
My colleagues and I built a production-ready iPhone messaging app with a serverless backend. We used Twitter Digits and Cognito for login/user management, API Gateway + Lambda for backend compute, and DynamoDB + S3 for storage.
We had an overall good experience, other than some complications with Cognito/Digits. Happy to share any lessons learned or answer any questions!
My friends and I created a new iPhone messaging app focused on speed and simplicity. You can send or respond to a request for a picture, location, yes/no, or quantity in as little as one touch. We'd love the community's feedback on the landing page or app itself. BTW, this app was also an experiment for serverless architecture, and utilizes AWS Lambda for the entire backend.
National Geographic is a tremendously respected brand and is one of the last quality educational TV channels that hasn't "sold out" by making cheap reality shows (See History Channel, The Learning Channel, Discovery, etc). I really hope this doesn't change that.
Not sure why you want to so quickly discount data science, dev ops, etc. But you could also consider many research areas in computer science that use light scripting to prove out new algorithms and techniques. Another area is computer security/pen testing.
My only concern before using this as a job seeker would be getting used for free work and then not hired. Maybe oder the potion to get paid over those 3 days?
