I just learned about both projects and didn't dig deep into it, but it seems to me that minicart.js buttons will still work for users without JavaScript because they are "real" Paypal buttons. That might be an advantage over simplecart which seems to have no fallback for noscript users.

Awkward. The demo on the front page didn't work at all. Tried all three: Fx 30.0, Safari 7.0.4, Chrome 35
