Because "feeling" is an electrochemical phenomenon hone by billions of years of evolution. "Feeling" is parallel to thinking in mammals, so the text that LLM based "AI" ingests only contains references to feeling, not feelings themselves.

My son had a little toy called Charlie when he was a baby which he loved deeply. AI no more has feelings than the idea Charlie came to life and played with the other toys when we left the room.
