This is a specific Dell issue. You can see when comparing last quarter results, if somebody needs servers for serious business data center work they will get them from SuperMicro.

The run up in the share price of Dell, some days with percentages higher than NVIDIA just to at the be surprised with a 20% share price drop, shows there is a lot of dumb money and trend following in Wall Street. 20 days ago out of the 14 analysts covering DELL, 10 recommend “Strong Buy”...

I was looking at their workstation the other day and they have this totally absurd “AI” branding that makes no sense whatsoever.

They are selling machines with GPUs with 4GB VRAM as “AI-Ready”.

If they don’t know system requirements for running basically any LLM or image model, it’s no wonder they are failing.
