Do ChatGPT and Perplexity have different target audiences? Do they focus on different Target Groups? Are the users different?

(I know they have technical differences, and we can talk about that if you want, but my interest is the marketing strategy. Perhaps predefined or more probably by accident as a consequence of the tech they come up with)

Good answer. Thank you. I use both almost every day, and it is difficult to distinguish between them for me. What seems more relevant between the two free versions is that Perplexity can answer questions related to recent events.

In any case all this seems related to technical differences. I am not sure about marketing differences. Do they target different target audiences? Different kind of people?
