If Poland had been immediately and fully supported in defense against the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact by the WW1 allies would WW2 have happened? Or would it have been effectively aborted?

I often wonder this myself.

But let's jump back to today. Let's say we give The Kremlin what they want due to their threats of nuclear annihilation.

We have now shown that "The West" has no backbone.

What is to prevent Russia from using the same playbook again while moving further west?

Yep. What this shows is that Musk fears "world war", and this is a fear that Russia can exploit.

I stated elsewhere that we could offer Russia Donetsk and Luhansk in exchange for Putin. It would be a win for Russia (which is otherwise sacrificing thousands of Russian lives). But as long as Putin is in charge you know it would never happen.

From what I've read elsewhere the Ukrainians were using or going to use Starlink to guide drones. This use has been banned.

So Starlink has only banned the use in drones?

The weird thing is that I believe Starlink has advertised its military constellation as being able to hop onto the main Starlink constellation as well. How does that work with this new rule for Starlink? Or Musk reserves the right to chose which operations he personally wants to veto?

I'd still disagree but be a little more sympathetic to blanket statement of "We don't want our technology used offensively"

To recap, his previous statements show his stance is we should give Putin what he wants to stop the war. Also he has said Taiwan should be like Hong Kong, among other effusive praise for China.
