I really like this initiative, especially the way it strives to bring together multiple platforms in a unified approach. The Fediverse is strongest if higher levels of interoperability are reached, and for this new type of application it helps if there is standardization to the ActivityPub [0] / ActivityStreams [1] protocol extensions that may be developed as part of this project.

You are maintaining a fork of Trustroots [0] on Github. Is this where a prototype of the federation is developed, and if yes, what is the relationship to upstream (both repo and project wise)?

So amongst many other things we are going to try connect (federate) two instances of Trustroots. We are also planning on starting a new community for folks looking for an alternative for warm showers as a fork of Trustroots, then we hope to federate the two. The relationship to upstream is pretty good and we are hoping to be able to contribute very soon to upstream and collaborate as much as possible, some of us are also on the slack for Trustroots and we have had very good and lengthy discussions there in relation to federation and also in general in regards to HospEx issues. In parallel we are very much interested in any other direction which might not involve Trustroots code, it just sounded like a great idea so we would would like to try it

Could you elaborate? Is the call for devs? Or is it for the general community? What are the usual discussion topics? How to join the call?

Sure! The call is for anyone who'd like to drop in, you or anyone else are very much welcome to say hi, listen in or bring up a topic. On the website there is a link to the pad which has a description of the agenda and the link to the call (Jitsi). We had some pretty technical discussions on calls but also casual chit chat or just general pr issues
