The writer of this article was on C.H. talking about it. Some people took issue with the fact that C.H. is helping some creators monetize in a selection process that's somewhat opaque. Other people are upset C.H. is monetizing at all, despite the fact that people have been doing so on ch for months now. Overall many people defended C.H. despite all its problems, the product definitely has a cultish following despite all its moderation issues.

Investors have warmed to the idea of creators monetizing because they're more profitable than all the 30 person startups in their portfolio.

And when they looked beneath the surface they found a revenue producing asset that still was getting ripped off by the platforms they use to process revenue.

True! Although most creators don't have any power over the social media channel they use to distribute content, evident by the fact that most creators can't take their audience across social media apps. In end most people come for the general vibe of the app, the producer's content end up being quite undifferentiated. Charlie D'Amelio is an exception here obviously.
