Ask HN: Where do you find thought-provoking articles on the internet?

Recently I've been finding it difficult to find high-quality interesting articles and discussion on the internet.

Over the years reddit has become less and less thought-provoking and more of an echo chamber. Digg and Slashdot and Metafilter are mostly dead, and HN one of the rare platforms left for genuine, intelligent conversation.

Is there anything left of the old web, a platform where people discussed interesting topics with curiosity and friendliness?
