Ask HN: dead-tree media against information overload ?

I think I am experiencing information overload right now. Always checking HN, techcrunch and a few others ...these days, I can hardly get anything done when I am Internet enabled. So I am wondering, wouldn't be a great solution to limit myself to a couple of weekly, maybe monthly, great magazines ? Is Wired a good choice ?
