I'd be curious to see a direct performance comparison between their python and JS workers. Based on my own experience with pyodide, I'd wager there might be up to a 2x performance penalty.

I'm currently in the boat where I need to set up authentication (and eventually authorization) for a startup catering to big enterprises almost exclusively. I'd love to be recommended resources for setting up something like Keycloak or Auth0 (or anything else) for that use case.

I learned how to program by working on a modest simulation for one of the PIs involved with IceCube. I ended up leaving academia but I really enjoy keeping up with the project over the years.

Overpriced? Can't say I disagree with you, but Harness was by far the best CD solution I've ever used, and to this day I'm still waiting for an open source solution to replicate the experience, without needing to deploy resource hungry services.

Some agencies, ones you might not even expect like the USPS and FDA, also have law enforcement powers, but have very narrow jurisdiction (relative to general law enforcement agencies like the FBI). So when a case actually does fall under their jurisdiction, they execute their duties "with extreme prejudice", so to speak. Assuming the story from the OP you replied to is true, the fact that they arrested the police officers would show how seriously they take their duties, even if the officers tampering with the mail was due to carelessness while they themselves were performing their duty.

Yea, after reading the article I went and read the 2.10 release blog post and then came back and commented as if the article posted was the 2.10 post. That was my mistake.

I've never used it myself, but while doing research I noticed that it received a lot of praise from users.

One thing that did catch my attention is that it doesn't use statefulsets for the postgres pods. I mostly agree with their reasons, but I haven't taken the time to understand their implementation.

Yea, I mean basically there are a variety of techniques for encoding molecules as vectors. Morgan/circular fingerprints (cf https://darkomedin-datascience.medium.com/data-science-for-d... as a quick google search) are one way of encoding to bit vectors, and the Tanimoto similarity is a well validated measure of similarity (because of the bit vectors, cf https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chemical_similarity).

Virtual screens of molecules frequently use steps to filter out molecules, one of which is via chemical similarity.

When I was taking organic chemistry my (mid-to-late 60s at the time in ~20010) teacher told us an anecdote about benzene when we started learning about aromatic molecules. She told us that they used to clean their lab bench with benzene solvent to make it sparkling clean. Of course, she also told us it was carcinogenic and then finished by saying a lot of her contemporary colleagues that went into organic chemistry research were now dead. Really drives home that a lot of safety precautions and practices are "written in blood", so to speak.
