I think they do compensate candidates. But as the article mentions it sucks a whole week of energy you could be applying for other jobs. It means for that week you're forgoing other opportunities.
I've seen work trials promoted as a way for companies to improve their hiring decisions, but as he points out it sucks for a candidate. I think work trials might be a reflection of the current buyers market for software devs.
When I see connections are wasting time playing LinkedIn puzzles I'm just embarrassed for them. Although I half expect it's just made up for engagement like fake profiles on dating sites.

"A platform that the federal regulatory apparatus has agreed to treat as adjacent to a derivatives market listed, ran, settled, and paid out a binary contract on the eschatological return of the Christian messiah."
How is this not the coolest shit ever?
Maybe the double taxation is worth it if I can get access to frontier models. Just wish the US had a lite subscription.
This looks really slick and also very detailed. Is it free as in beer or free as in freedom?
It sounds like you already are an AI infrastructure engineer. Just keep doing that job and look for steps up while improving your skills

No country is going to bomb Switzerland because they all have money stashed here.
There goes my plan for the weekend though
US employers absolutely do know that, they are required to have proof you can work in the US.
I was about to say I haven't hit these yet, and I somehow haven't in my work use so far. But I was asking about tweaking and optimizing my workout routine, and it got flagged as a safety violation. Utter clown show.
