Writing custom scripts in PAWN and then later mods, hacks and cheats for CLEO was my personal gateway into coding. Most RP servers were so nepotistic, so that was my way of getting back and fighting the "system". Fun times, do not miss it tho.

And look where that got Germany; my hometown and neighbouring towns are mostly on ADSL or rarely VDSL if you’re lucky, because the big players don’t want anything to do with the cost and legal side.

My now residence here in the UK is not really rural and for years Giganet/CityFibre/toob promised gigabit soonTM for years and the date got delayed and delayed and delayed.

No, it's nothing more than that, and that is the most frustrating. I agree with you on the other comment (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=44777760#44778294) and a confidence metric or a simple "I do not know" could fix a lot of the hallucination.
In the end, <current AI model> is driven towards engagement and delivering an answer and that drives it towards generating false answers when it doesn't know or understand.
If it was more personality controlled, delivering more humble and less confident answers or even making it say that it doesn't know would be a lot easier.

Control panel is bad. The alternatives are worse. Prepare to have your settings gated behind several menus you have to navigate through!
And even then it happens to ignore context or queries from start or halfway through. I'd rather spend the time coding then trying to bruteforce it to give me the answer I need.
It's not always easy doing that for Apple, but there's not ten different ways you have to do things for ten different manufacturers.
It's why, I, as a user, chose to stick with iOS. At least it's the devil I know, with the behaviour and boundaries that I can accept - without having to figure out every kink everytime there is an update.
I understand that some people prefer to tinker with their phones, I do not.

From other sites, it seems it uses a Mac Mini in a server room as a proxy for iMessage to accomplish this, with the massive drawback of having to provide Nothing your Apple ID credentials.

It would be only a relief for a symptom and not actually curing the cause.
The best advice I can give people who struggle to claim something from an airline and get exhausted of getting rejected, use flightright.com. (No - not affiliated with them)
I had a claim rejected and initially it was rejected when flightright attempted to claim it. It went to court and even after commission I ended up with more money than I paid for the tickets.
All I had to do was sign a few documents and have patience.

It’s an exaggeration, but you have to be genuinely afraid to found a company with Apple in their name. “Apple Farm” might get sued by Apple.
There should be a better process that involves a neutral party reviewing the claim and do sanity check if everyday names and items are used, before it actually becomes a lawsuit.
But instead we let the bullies win, because they have the money.

An example: when we interact with other human beings, we often really only care about the surface, don’t we? Mannerisms, looks, behaviour. Very rarely do we question those with “why?”. But who does? Psychologists.
Same with any technology. Consumers don’t care about the why, they care about the result.
Scientists and engineers care about the “why” and “how”.
Now, is it important to understand “what’s behind the curtain”? Yes. But for who is it important?

We think units that are used in different countries/cultures/continents are weird, because we’re not used to it. I can get behind the Fahrenheit bit, being more “human-readable” but for me 30C will always be hot.
Definitely go with the Steam Deck. It’s literally a portable pc which you can turn adhoc into a workstation, plug into a TV for sofa gaming and it’s really really bang for buck. The performance is amazing, the community caring and it runs on Linux.

I wish she would’ve gone into more detail on why it’s bad, why it’s so frightening. I know the answer; but many don’t, and no one of the videos posted, gave any good insight on why this is scary. Call out the problem!

No, not really. The PowerShell modules for the several M365 admin centres are, including the “new” MSGraph API, buggy, inconsistent and missing vital features across the board.
PowerShell is great, MickeySofts own modules, not.
