It feels very strange (and wrong) to me: if there is difficulties in installing something, try to help people instead of packaging the solution with other things that are not related.

I understand your overall point now that you took the time to explain a bit more, and it is valid criticism. But it is not "obvious" what you were saying. Based on the replies you've got, I see that I'm not alone to think this. You might want to look inward into why that is.

You're suggesting that because the system doesn't offer a standalone recipe to setup Hyprland, implying that everything else it does include and does better than anything else is not a standalone package also, it's silly and amateurish and they don't know what they are doing. You can try and convince me all you want, but that is not a point of view I could ever get behind, sorry.

You're still misattributing the reason I like Omarchy to DHH's reason of making Omarchy.

I was just talking about my experience. I don't think DHH's entire goal was only to help people install Hyprland, it's weird that you're getting this idea.

I've tried to setup Arch with Hyprland like 3 times on my own and with the most popular dot files. It was terrible, frustrating and things broke all the time. Omarchy fixed that and I can't recommend it enough.

It is very good even though it's in early development. Issues are getting fixed almost as fast as I can find them. I have to use macOS sometimes for work and OmniWM made it bearable.

I've submitted a couple of issues for their [javascript library for Live Photos](https://developer.apple.com/documentation/LivePhotosKitJS).

One being that the most recent version is on their cdn but not their [npm package](https://www.npmjs.com/package/livephotoskit?activeTab=readme) which was never updated for 7 years. You know what they did with this issue? They've marked it as "Unable to diagnose".

Also I've mentioned something about their documentation not being up to date for a function definition. This issue has remained open for 4 years now.

I have an old fire tv and never tried to stop automatic updates on it, it has become so slow and unresponsive that I'm barely able to switch inputs to use something else. Netflix is the only app that still works on that tv.

Everything about Office 365 (now called Microsoft 365 for some reason) is extremely confusing to me. It's not just Outlook, there's like 3 versions of the other apps as well.

It's really incredible that I have such a better experience pairing my new airpods to an old machine running ubuntu than a recent macbook. When using my macbook, the airpods just randomly disconnect and start glitching with static noise and I have to pair them again. On linux, there is no random disconnect and the sound clarity feels way better.

Hey I've made a weird OAuth like that!

It was an intranet with an OAuth server for a company. A team that implemented an OAuth login for another related app wouldn't follow the official specs. They've asked for me to change how OAuth works because otherwise it would be "impossible" for them to implement the login, and what they were asking were seemingly random changes that didn't follow any official specs. After a couple of months of back and forth and no matter what I said, the conclusion that everyone else at the company agreed is that I was being uncooperative.

In the end, I caved in, and there's now an OAuth Frankenstein just for them that lives alongside the OAuth for everyone else. I've made a dedicated #special-needs section just for them in the docs, with no explanations why, and I hope other teams will enjoy the read.

In Canada, the large telcos are being regulated by the CRTC (Canada's FCC) and one recent regulation is forcing them to sell wholesale access to their fiber networks to smaller competitors. You think this would be a good thing, but the CRTC wholesale rates in that regulation are higher than what the big telcos are directly charging to their customers, which makes the smaller competitors unable to compete on price.

I've been shopping around these small providers, and a lot of them have recently been acquired by the big telcos.

I was commenting on a story about how americans had problems adapting to taiwanese work culture, and saying how they could benefit from this cultural exchange to optimize their productivity. Like you, I also do not thing this really captures why it's more expensive to run factories here, because I've never even suggested this.

If you believe there has been a decline in American work ethics, this actually seems like a good thing. Optimistically they could reach a good middle ground here.
