Capturing the thinking stream for feed forward thought streams is the new prompt to post about.

Ornith:8b, competing for code construct against much heavier (local) models. From all of my instructing, the final thought conclusion in one line…

“keep it minimal and focused.”

I suspect structuring prompts like feed forward THINKING loops the outcomes will become more refined.

Not every model supports it. I just use Ollama.

These examples are separate and distinct through time and space.

Odysseus wasn’t considered a “trickster” though cunning yes. And yes, that’s the way it’s told through scholarly conventions (not making it up, take it for what you will!) that in general the masculine form is brute force and the feminine form (which obviously doesn’t mean “female only”) is subtly and deception.

* and many of your examples refer to gods, Odysseus was distinguishable as a mortal! Taking from that whatever one may…

For sure!

Without actually reading the paywalls article, of context a classical enthusiast I would have to agree!

The subtle art of deception was historically considered a feminine trait, as opposed to the brute nature of masculinity.

Athena Minerva smiled upon Odysseus, bestowing upon him a manner of charm and wit unparalleled even in the world of his time.

His craft of deception and charm in the end did not need armies to conquer.

I don’t know where else the article might be going with this, though the story is a favorite!

If you missed it, an earlier post discussed choosing among the various translations of the Odyssey for whoever among you were curious…

Philosophy is a living process of integrating ideas. Classical materials are the whetstone upon which the mind is sharpened. Unlike history, where literal established accounts are ideal, in philosophy one is expected to view today (or the future) through the lens of contextual discourse.

While there is “no right answer” understanding what the issues are and how the discussion plays out is relevant.

What do you mean no physics claim?

Fusion, we are currently 100 years away from “true” fusion power. Notably, capturing the gamma potential is far beyond our means. In the sun the gamma release bounces around for approximately ONE MILLION YEARS, ricocheting through a wall of gas 50,000 Earth thick before emerging as the soft glow of sunlight we see. Notably, at the very core that plasmoidal gas is 13 x the density of lead, moving towards the density of water before it reaches the surface.

And then there is the acceleration of counterweights towards the speed of light. Acceleration of 1kg to 99% of the speed of light gives us 7kg of relativistic mass. So careful pulse width modulated acceleration of counterweights of a fraction of the base “craft” mass would make the craft fall up! You would need to manipulate intensive electromagnetic fields to do this safely.

Easy,

- true controlled fusion, harvest the gamma potential right off the reactor

- master intense electromagnetism, useful for all sorts of things

- accelerate masses towards the speed of light, as ballast propulsion

- build a city sized craft that flies and hovers in the sky like bricks don’t.

Then it isn’t AGI, unless you agree that most people’s thinking skills “just suck.” For which there is an argument. As long as we can try and try and try again, especially in context of pre-existing working examples, then sure GI and therefor AGI may just suck yet average out just fine!

There are certain persons who downvote at the slightest provocation or inclination.

It would be impossible to tell without running analysis queries as to who and what causes such behavior.

I should point out your comment is “frumpy” with a dash of “cringe”. Could it be that your comments are laced with a condescension which draws negative response?

algorithmic information theory, arguing that general intelligence is mathematically equivalent to data compression and sequence prediction

Then let it be said “algorithmic intelligence” for true “general” intelligence is not constrained by sequence or brevity. There is indirection, substitution, and other variabilities to the chaotic circumstances of real world (“general”) problem solving. All forms of intelligence relate to the reduction of uncertainty. Compression sounds like “shortest path” and sequence sounds like constrained conditions, neither are “general.”

Compression is not intelligence.

While intelligence and compression both may have similar goals (to optimize paths of information), intelligence negotiates probability (allowing multiple divergent outcomes) while compression requires an idempotent symbolic translation.

Yes. While encouraging the youngsters in my family I tell them “the mind is like a magical place which is bigger on the inside than on the outside.” And that “reading books makes the mind larger”. Though I don’t go much further on the philosophy, if I were to carry on with an adult I would point out that the introspection is a form of life experience. Throughout the rest of one’s life, every time someone remembers and relates to whatever was read, it counts internally as a developmental experience.

They sure do!

I know when babes are watching me I fix my posture and try not to do anything bafoonish.

That doesn’t mean meddlesome jerkarses profiling my behavior is okay though!

As we saw with that ultra safe and secure palantir law enforcement scandal, there is just as much a likelihood the watchers are your stalkers!

And now that Trump wants to broaden involuntary detentions on “psychological” grounds, who’s going to decide when it’s just CRAZY not to support the worlds greatest president?

As little as possible or necessary.

For the hard working entrepreneur in the middle of nowhere midlands it sounds like “wohoo!” Salaries, rent, equipment, and now … tokens? Will devour that quickly.

The investment won’t be worth anything if it doesn’t carry through to revenue.

So I would have to say “infrastructure.” The most essential things to get to wherever the plan is going. Maybe keep 20% in cash for unexpected emergencies.

$100k really isn’t a lot unless you’re one guy working from home.

Don’t spend it on anything you don’t need!

Nicely structured single page doc with letterhead, a projected project total (for whatever duration or goal), an itemized break down, iterative milestone completion dates/amounts and “please pay” the next incremental amount due.

Wham bam thank you ma’am.

Invoicing regularly and clearly is like printing your own money.

producing edible fats by oxidizing synthetic paraffin wax made from coal… edible fats were obtained … which were reacted with glycerol such as that synthesized from propylene. Margarine made from them was found to be nutritious and of agreeable taste, and it was incorporated into diets contributing as much as 700 calories per day. The process required at least 60 kilograms of coal per kilogram of synthetic butter.

Yummm

So true! Just to show how much so, here’s another hypothesis!

Time dilation! As time itself emerges from space/gravity, mass and distance could introduce a “time dilation” fudge that cosmologists attribute to “dark energy/matter”!

It may be our lack of understanding of time itself that changes factors of how we calculate the cosmological expansion/contraction and other mass stability estimates.

I too find it funny that we can wrap up our ignorance into a concept and call it dark*(whatever)!

I would like to point out that the Cartesian (x,y,z) account of “three dimensions” is imaginary and does not exist in reality. Only on paper does this make any sense.

In reality coordinates are polar relations among bodies (usually in reference to the largest body in common.)

Any system that relies upon imaginary coordinates to refute imaginary numbers is suspicious. And what is this <star> operator business anyhow (Unicode did not interpolate)?

You’re right.

One counter theory (oops, “hypothesis”) is that the “missing matter” is actually the stored gravitational energy of systems “weaving” among themselves (my wording.) kind of like how intense magnetic fields “braid”, in a galaxy scale all mass bodies are not sitting evenly dispersed on the orbital plane (by accretion,) rather they are perturbing each other in complex orbits as the disc churns, storing more gravitational potential than may be visibly accounted. Like a spring (compressing a spring actually increases mass.)

Galaxies without these complex orbital currents would correlate more consistent visible mass estimations.

My dad taught me, when you borrow something always return it in better condition than you received it. I thought everyone did this sort of thing until I lived in the “real world” and found it more common to neglect! As I grew older I realized this should apply to everything, even the environment.
