I would like to also suggest greywall[1] which i found yesterday. It sandboxes the filesystem, network, syscalls, dns. The network uses a transparent proxy to see which network requests were made. Supports linux and macos.
What about syd[1]? Is it faster than gvisor? Has anyone used it in a real life setting?

They are talking about the tone of the message. "it shouldn't be this hard" is not the proper way to report a bug at least not in a neutral way. It has the intention to make the maintainer feel bad and increase the likelihood of a change. And that was just in the title.

I did not start by reading huge quantities of source code, including sophisticated programs well beyond my current understanding, in all manner of languages and platforms. This seems very different to training a machine-learning model to me.
I don't really see how the complexity (which is subjective) of the source code one reads makes the training different.
In essence, a good remote desktop software will use video encoding/decoding (h264/265 for both ways being very fast) to encode captured frames of the desktop, and a good transport protocol over the network with good tuning parameters to achieve low latency (which is what mine does). I believe this is what NoMachine and Parsec do and why they are so good (along with NICE DCV)
They do, but the paid version of NoMachine has?/had? a mode called X11 vector graphics explained better by NXDev here [0]. I've used it from 2016 until 2021 and for classic applications (ie apps not requiring a GPU) is incredibly fast. To the point that I used to forget i was working remotely.
