Are games really that relevant here? I'd suggest it might be more relevant that they haven't interacted with women enough. If that's the case, then that's the issue. To say something is a timesink is different from saying it warps wordviews strongly in and of itself.

You might be surrounded by well above-average technical literacy people. I woud guess that even of the people that are aware of how centralized messaging servers work, most don't think about it for months at a time.
How would one stop the police from getting "anonymous tips" with illegally acquired evidence again and again? It sounds like it would lead to a plain disregard for procedure.
Indeed, it is all about sentience. If we assume it's unconscious, which we probably can, then it's morally irrelevant in my opinion.
I don't believe there's consensus in this, as philosophy might be the only discipline tasked with defining itself. Still, this is as good an answer as any.

That would deprive almost any person of the chance to learn how to say something meaningful!
It protects the message in transport, its metadata, as well as offer some endpoint security.
That doesn't mean the user can't export the messages himself.
