The school system I work for has thousands of devices with these. They're basically like an SD card for a camera soldered to the board. They do not have the wear leveling and other shit a real SSD has.

They're slow, (comparatively) unreliable and small. Because they're on the board a bad one means a new mobo which is generally not cost effective so it's done. I hate them and the cheap shitty hardware that they come with.

I run a dedicated pfsense machine (old optiplex 755 with an old ssd) I added a nic to it. All network traffic must physically flow through it (1 nic goes to lan 1 goes directly to the cable modem). It's running pfblockerng and DNSBL with a bunch of sources. It's amazing. I can watch youtube videos on my smart tv in the living room streaming with 0 ads.

You could just have a desktop with vastly better specs. My 4 year old full tower still has better specs in almost every way than top end laptops do.

I don't understand the obsession with laptops. They have shit keyboards, small screens, are far more fragile, have less room to work (don't like having to clown-car my arms to type/use a touchpad), are generally under powered yet still exceedingly expensive. Yea, I have one at home and 2 at work - but I also have an illicit desktop at work (actually not allowed... for no reason).

The laptop's ONLY advantage is in portability, imo. But then I've never sat in a noisy coffee shop or whatever on one. I don't see the appeal in that either - I make my own coffee (roast/grind/boiled filtered water/french press) which is better quality for less money. To each their own I guess.

I've had by far the best results with just regular USPS. FedEx is usually the worst, I've had them not even bother knocking and just leave the slip for the next guy multiple times (literally watched them do it on camera). UPS can be bad like that too but not as bad as FedEx.
