How often does this even get used? How does the NSA even communicate to a police officer in the field? I think you give local cops a ton of credit. At the end of the day it looks like there are more hard drugs available on the street than ever before despite all the spooky tech and warrantless searching.

Do banks have anything you can use to automate getting data off their websites? My annoyances lie in generating the csv files. My checking account outputs an arbitrary range of dates, however many transactions fit on pg 1, while my credit card from the same bank outputs csvs by billing cycle. It makes it a little annoying going into the bank website and generating these files across relevant date ranges.
I would’t be surprised to hear most of the worlds population lives in an area ideal for solar power. I’m thinking SE Asia and Africa. But also, 18 million people live in greater Los Angeles alone, so a good portion of the US population and certainly a large portion of central and south America would be good candidates as well for solar.

If they’ve been building it on mac os for decades it shouldn’t be too hard to package it for other unix based OSs. Hire a single engineer and they could probably get something running in six months.
I can tell you that despite what you might figure, buildings really do get used. I went to a massive university with 50k people, and a campus so big it took a half hour to traverse yet was packed with massive buildings the whole way. For the most part the buildings would be booked up during the regular term, but during exams, then they were absolutely maxed. All the study spaces in the 13 story main library, 6 story engineer library, and all the other scattered libraries would be full. There would be no free chairs at all. People would resort to studying in empty classrooms during finals, which usually worked better since you had a closed off room to meet with your group, space, AV hookup, whiteboards, etc.
If there wasn’t a need for more and more rooms in a college, they wouldn’t get built. It’s not some conspiracy.
This is why its so ironic to me that people celebrate europe, nyc, etc as some dense model for the world, when they too arent building to meet supply and refusing to upzone while local leaders benefit from their property assets exponentially rising in price, same as a suburban US city with the only high rises being offices.

Speaking as someone who goes from bed to couch to bed during this pandemic due to a lack of desk space in my crampt apartment, I would murder someone if it meant I could claim their chair and desk and have actual lumbar support again.
The reality is that today in southern california, ICUs are at capacity. Most people end up ok. My whole family got it and had basically just congestion for two weeks, including the 90 year old ancients we though were sure goners when they contracted it (we just turned up their oxygen and they were feeling a lot better).
That being said, enough people do need medical care, and thats enough people to entirely burden our capacity to treat any sort of medical emergency, and cases are still going up. It’s not good right now.
None of the perks are beneficial to the consumer. The consumer just sees the onerous process of converting btc to usd, and sees the currency as speculative like a penny stock and nothing more. The only people who are long interner are the same people as they were 10 years ago. For most people, btc is a slot machine.

Instagram ads for millenials are like flies to honey in my anecdotal experience. So many of my peers buy their furniture, dress shoes, clothing, water bottles, watches, dog leashes, pretty much everything in their lives from seeing some like-aged person use that thing on an instagram ad (and the product usually being pretty cheap). It blows my mind how successful these dime a dozen drop shipping companies based on instagram are with millenials and gen z, and buying like this will only be more normalized in the future as more people know someone who got something nice from that instagram ad.
Likewise, I probably haven’t seen an ad for coca cola or kleenex in a while. Once a brand is ubiquitous to the point where soda becomes coke and tissues become kleenex in the lexicon, it feels like ad spend is wasted.
Considering the context can be helpful. Apple has their caffeinate utility, seems to me amphetamine is an appropriate name for a more powerful “stimulant” utility, given the naming convention Apple themselves have laid out.
