I did some more research, and it looks like tires are the 2nd largest part of the pie in terms of single origin. The largest is textiles which are 35%.

The AirGradient uses the D1 wemos as the microcontroller & network connectivity. There are D1 ethernet shields that have PoE that would make it pretty easy to slap on top of the d1 and provide this exact feature, however you might need to tweak the code a bit to switch the network access from wifi to ethernet.
I've read that the majority of microplastics come from tire wear (national geographic quoted 28% of the total), and because there's no good alternative to wheel tires, it's unlikely we'll see a decrease of pollution here. So even if we found an alternative to bottles, plastic bags, clothing, etc, it still won't make a dent in pollution unless we convince the world to use a form of public transit that doesn't make use of plastic tires.
We could reduce human consumption of the particles if we only consumed lab-grown meat & hydroponically grown vegetables where the water is ultra-filtered before use.

Of course space heaters are far easier to move around the house compared to a mini-split system and would use less power if you only plan to heat a small room.
Sadly most popular window a/c units don't have true heat pump abilities. Usually the heating portion of window units use resistive heating.
Why would it be the fault of hospitals? They have no incentive to construct more ICUs. A large percentage of covid patients entering the ICU for ventilation will die, and you can't collect on a dead patient. ICUs are a money hole -- they require specialized equipment, isolation construction, experienced medical team, etc. If a hospital is motivated by profit, they would construct as few ICUs as legally possible.
Nurses working in the ICU during the beginning of the pandemic would use the same mask for an entire week without losing efficacy. If the masks didn't work, we would have seen a huge number of them infected in the NYC hospitals but that didn't happen. Most viruses don't survive very long on surfaces.
you can reuse n95s, nurses do it all the time. let them sit near a sunny window, off-smells will dissipate in a day. each mask is good for around 8 hours of continuous usage, but it's likely that the mask becomes too soiled before the electrostatic charge is neutralized.

Yes, it seemed like it worked in hamsters, but as we well know, most drugs that work in mice don't work in humans. Besides, we already have many anti-inflammatory drugs that can reduce the cytokines, so it's a stretch to use ivermectin strictly as a steroid.
Dr. Pierre Kory was one of the main dudes promoting ivermectin -- he references the meta-analysis study on ivermectin that was later redacted. Of course when this interview was released (june 22), the study was not yet redacted (july 14) so it looked like the drug worked far better all the drugs including steroids & antibody treatment.

It's still lower than the peak of 3300 (7-day average) during the winter season, and that's when we had 250k cases daily. We're almost at 150k daily cases, but with only 1k daily deaths. At least based purely on numbers, the CFR is lower. The CFR is lower because most of the infections are happening in younger people.

This is only because the majority of the populace is vaccinated against polio, measles. If the majority of the population was also unvaccinated, these viruses would make life not fun. Most of us live a very sheltered life and have never directly experienced living with measles or polio.

It's not easy to get acquired by a FANG, but if you're okay with acqui-hire terms of most companies, you'll eventually get acquisition requests if the startup gets a little bit of press or has some traction. I've personally gone through this process several times already, turned down a few acqui-hire requests, and eventually accepted one. One of my startups only lived for 4 months before it was acqui-hired, which was still more enjoyable than doing 4 months of interview prep.
In hindsight, if I accepted my first acqui-hire request, I would've eventually got hired into Google because the startup that wanted to hire us was eventually folded into google, but honestly it's hard to tell from a distance which companies are going to be acquired by a FAANG.

Seems safe enough to test on humans even if it's not effective. Did the paper mention the dosage required? There must be test subjects out in the wild that regularly consume high quantities of CBD.
Microplastics don't only come from plastics that touch your food. When you turn on your kitchen faucet to make chicken broth, plastic is coming from your faucet. If you eat fish or chicken, the plastic is found in the meat. When you wash your clothes, you are generating new microplastics that get dumped into the sewers that slowly make it back into the meats of chickens and your bottled water.
If you want to completely avoid microplastics, you'll have to use reverse osmosis water for everything, grow animal feed using this purified water, raise chickens using this animal feed, etc. Live in a bubble where the air is ultra filtered.
When you buy food-safe plastic (BPA/BPS-free plastic) it won't contain one of many bad ingredients, but microplastic comes from many sources of plastic, some which do contain BPA/BPS. BPA is known to harm the brain & prostate, BPS is known to cause hormone disruption. BPA is found in lining of aluminum cans, toys, & polycarbonate.

I don't know how much is retained, but the plastics have been found in the meat of cows & fish, so it's likely spread all throughout our bodies as well.
I think it's harder to grasp the negative counts, because this is essentially the population of the city almost every day. The statistical change from day to day would be less than 1% so it's hard for humans to grasp a significant increase in cases. If the daily cases were to go up by 10x (2000 daily cases), it would still show 881,000 negative cases. If it went from 881,000 negative to 879,000 negative, should we panic?
On your site, El Paso is still at around 98% negative tests, which makes it appear like everything is under control when in reality the hospitals were mostly overrun and had to send patients outside of the county.
I think the pre-existing condition is what scares me the most. There have been studies on people who recovered from SARS, and these people still suffer from fatigue and brain fog over 4 years later.
Plants grown in hydroponic systems tend to have shorter roots because plants don't need to grow deep to acquire the same amount of water. If you ever looked at roots in soil, you may notice many roots branch off into very fine whiskers, almost like the capillaries in our vascular system. Plants grown in hydroponics lack this whisker-like growth because it doesn't need it. Depending on the hydroponic configuration, long roots may not matter at all. For example, in a deep water culture grow, a very long root would just curl up inside the bucket, so it doesn't matter as long as the bucket has enough volume for all the roots.
Does that mean anything though? I don't keep much in my checking account either since there's no interest.
