there are people out there that think VS is a good IDE they don't just use vim or emacs there are people out there that think Xamarin is a good technology there are people out there that want to build mobile apps in a dead Microsoft design pattern (MVVM) I want off this wild ride.
Winner winner chicken dinner! The reason this is such a public matter is because it is going to be used as impetus to change laws so that data gained using such methods can be legally used as evidence in a court of law.

This is not really a new issue though. If a guy has a safe in his house and the cops get a warrant to search his house, they'll ask him what the code to the safe is. At that point he can tell them, or tell them he doesn't know and got it at a yard sale and was hoping to crack it one day. Of course I guess they could just take a diamond cutter to it at point. Can't really do that with software (barring quantum computers).

"What happens" is, the only reason 99% of humans are allowed to exist in the first place is because they were a good source of labor/taxes for the ruling class. Guess what happens the 99% no longer have anything worthwhile to offer?
Well, let me lay out the plan for you that Zuckerberg et al have in mind. 1. Create AI 2. Purge 80 - 90% of humanity in a WW 3. Live as kings of the planet indefinitely (since AI will have figured out a way to stop aging in humans by then). Personally, I have no problem with this plan even if it means my death, and that feeling is confirmed every time I turn I read the news.
However, when AI gets good enough, it will make capitalism obsolete
