Someone's triggered, X is totally tilted to the right now just look at your daily feed emails, I've gotten a huge influx of random right-wing nut jobs who I don't even follow, view, or care about but for some reason, it's being pushed clear as day.

And tilting to the right is in no way getting us closer to the middle given the current politics, agenda, and direction of the right, I think you should rethink that statement.

I used to work at Lexis Nexis and I agree since I could see first hand how much personal data and information they have on individuals.

They also used theworknumber funny enough for any "employment verification" etc, pretty sure they have a partnership.

$2 Trillion or so, also we have to admit the failure was the US changing its role there from hunting Bin Laden and the Taliban to "Nation building" with an obviously corrupt Govt that has always been there.

It shouldn't be a surprise since you need a society that wants to actually break from the same continued cycle, unfortunately Afghanistan isn't it due to many reasons.

I think the problem the US did was we announced we were leaving prior to doing any of that necessary work before we even announced or started to leave.

In hindsight I'm not sure why but it felt liked it was indeed a rushed effort, obviously started by the Trump admin and now Biden's admin, either way I think everyone is tired of the situation in general since it's not a society or place anyone will ever change unless we decide to stay there for a few centuries.

Why does the United States allow anyone to vote without identification is a shocking question to be asking in 2021.

I feel this is a huge misconception, everyone has to identify for the most part to get your voter registration card for example, so to claim we are allowing votes without identification is false.

Voter registration usually also includes your signature which is verified on all ballots mailed or otherwise.

For example last year I had to verify that my ballot was actually coming from me since they questioned my signature as it was an old signature I used. I sent in the proper documents to update said signature and prove I am who I said I was and it was done and over with.

I have not personally had any issues with it at all via upgrading, mainly 2 Macbook Pros, 1 2018 ed and 1 2015 ed so not sure if maybe it's has more to do with hardware compatibility issues some are experiencing which doesn't doesn't help your confidence level of Apple and future releases but I'm sure there can be fixes and lessons learned.

Part of thinking for yourself is not to disregard the obvious disinformation campaigns Russia has been a part of, along the same lines of the Republican party as well.

Don't broadly accuse the media of disinformation when there's much more evidence to show certain actors have pushed disinformation/misinformation than to just lump them all into one, if you want to go after any media org how about Fox News aka the Rupert Murdoch scam.

Floridian here! I've been taking cold showers as well for the past few years and I can certainly say it makes a difference in the way you feel afterwards compared to a normal hot shower and regardless of the weather of the day as well, obviously it's more enjoyable when it is a warmer day or after some physical activity and exercise.

As some mentioned I think it has more to do with the shock put on your body which releases endorphins and other chemicals beneficial for brain function, it has shown to also be beneficial for some suffering from depression and such [1][2].

In my opinion the problem has to do really with the validity of the content being pushed around on social media as it's too easy to outright lie or post misinformation, if lies and misinformation go unchecked then how does factually correct information ever get across...

At this point we might as well all quit Facebook if you haven't already especially with them denying to take any responsibility when they've practically created and allowed for the situation we have now.

Way to take my comments out of context, I make these comments actually as a Colombian myself first except I don't live there, also I don't believe it's as simple as saying Colombians don't learn from their own mistakes, but obviously there seems to be a lot of political turmoil much of which people instantly want engage with in emotional reaction instead of thinking about the bigger picture for the entire country at whole and what it would take to unite it.

The problem is many in the government are right wingers hell bent on continuing the same war, same with many Colombians, just ask any of them, they don't support doing anything with the FARC.

Kind of a sad story if you ask me, seems like Colombians don't learn from their own mistakes even though the FARC have been operating on the same premise for more than 2 decades.... their Government doesn't take care of their own people and it's not hard for plenty of farmers to see.

I haven't heard any of the DNC leaders pushing this agenda in any strong manner, also the only reason it might seem like it's loud is maybe due to the fact of conservative outlets pushing the narrative.

In regards to an Immigration plan the DNC has time and time again pushed for reforms and debate but nothing has been done not because they are not willing, primarily because the other party loves to lambaste any idea or reform immediately as "open borders" or "Amnesty" when it could be no further from the truth, this is nothing new for us, unfortunately it's just a political cycle at this point.

I don't think Newsmax is the best source of news on this, you might as well have linked Breitbart.

As far as the defund ICE movement, it's just a small movement by a small set of people (namely AOC whom conservatives think is their modern red herring), lets not generalize and say all left leaning people want this when in reality they most likely don't, but you have to understand ICE has been abusing its power and it has also pushed to help create a massive private industry of private prisons housing "illegals" in which you could say should be defunded or more regulated since it's not properly handling people humanely nor are they helping the situation at hand.

You really think all those drugs are coming by the vast border?

A lot of it is already secured with fencing and barriers to funnel people to the Ports of entry essentially, also have some common sense, is it easier to A) traffic mass loads through carriers at legal entries who can directly bypass any detection just because of the mere basic fact that there is too much to check and examine (CBP can't check every truck/car/container/train etc) or B) use "Human smugglers" to traffic in their goods, knowing they will most likely be picked up by CBP along the way once they reach the border...

So a few donations to seemingly good causes make them good?

Don't be easily fooled by their "generosity" as it's not always as it seems to be, many times they fund "independent" organizations or think tanks which really are just foils for them to push their Conservative agenda.

I can keep going on, so please don't paint them as just some "nice" guys who give money.

As a South Floridian sorry to say but this is probably a massive waste of money and investment in an old technology that frankly I don't see how it's going to benefit people when it only has a few stops and because it can't seem to stop killing people it seems to be running slower and slower every week, wasn't this supposed to be a "Fast" train?

Also sure Florida has plenty of freight trains, something I'm used to but it seems like Brightline passes more frequently (not sure if they're still doing test runs here and there) which mess up local traffic patterns especially in rush hour times.

You have a few different options based on the comments here like locking down incoming/outgoing traffic with little snitch or other tools out there.

I would definitely recommend Avast though if you are concerned about safety, I've used it for some time now off and on and it does a good job of filtering pretty much any file based viruses as well as internet and email based exploits.

Agreed, also yeah I still don't see AR being used in everyday life still, maybe for a few applications but it still feels like just a cool tech "fad" right now, plus still very expensive for your everyday consumer.
