What are you trying to say? That people that had "millions" went homeless? The stocks recovered in less than two years. If they didn't sell in panic they still had millions after a brief period.

And as such they will not do it because people don't use such devices currently. It needs to be the other way around: have the devices, people start using them more and more, and only then come Google and Facebook to destroy the system with ads.

Yeah, 900€ just for two years is nothing. And this is just for the IntelliJ IDEA, not the whole pack. The standalone Office suite is 650€ for life. Photoshop from Adobe is quite a lot cheaper (some variant goes for $120/yr).

Take a look at the pricing for Jetbrains products. 500€ for the first year only. I'm sure it has some features above "vim with syntax highlighting" but I can't tell which one costs 500.

I have spent a month trying to understand various tools around qemu. Using virsh is easy. Using qemu directly is a nightmare.

native MacOS spell check API

Which is great when it works. But Romanian (my language) is not supported by Apple (even tough they sell quite many things here).

In fact this is a good example of a dysfunctional company. Apple managed to translate to Romanian most of their help docs but they can't provide a basic spell checker.

As an user I feel that GDPR changed nothing. Google, Facebook and whatever else tracks you to the bones did not change one bit (for me).

As a sys-admin, GDPR invented all sorts of jobs. Jobs well intended. But these jobs are filled by people that are neither lawyers nor IT people. Whenever I interact with them I feel like they just want to check some boxes that makes the org compliant and go home. They don't enforce or apply GDPR, they enforce those checkboxes.

* all of the above in my limited experience.

At my last place of work one could send as ceo@company. Still, they had crazy (proprietary) filtering. People make things better by accident, in the mean time they tick check boxes.
