We want to have a strong Iran, but with a friendly and peaceful leadership. We could easily take out Iran’s oil infrastructure, but it’s important for that to survive for the next generation of Iran. It seems crazy that Iran is still loading oil and selling it right now, but the goal is not to destroy Iran. A revolution is needed and hopefully it will come soon.

Some divorce laws seem to have the goal of being fair on average no matter what happens in many cases. Other laws seem to desire fairness in a few cases while causing unfairness in many more.

In California now, If you don’t understand why there are so many false claims of domestic violence at the beginning of a custody battle you may be in for a world of hurt.

In the case of someone I know, the wife’s notes from a meeting with a prospective attorney included “DVRO=$”

DVRO is Domestic Violence Restraining Order. For 10 months he only saw his kids with 3rd party supervised visitation costing $100 per hour.

Just like police departments use asset forfeiture to get money to buy their “toys” while innocent people lose their cash and cars because carrying cash is suspicious.

From what I saw, a "massive" amount of the left had no problem with FBI agents repeatedly lying to the FISA court to get warrants to spy on the opposing parties presidential campaign. Everyone on both sides knows the other side is full of criminals so anything against them is OK. There is no good ending to this situation.

Plenty of unemployed section 8 tenants will spend the next 40-50 years living in the same Los Angeles rent-controlled apartment. It's not necessary to have the productive members of society drive a long commute when the unemployed are living near jobs.

The notion that poor people (especially the unemployed) have the "right" to live in any neighborhood (even the most desirable) is crazy. Plenty of seniors living only on social security move out of California to a cost of living they can afford. Others cobble together a basket of benefits like Section 8 or low income housing lottery, disability payments (spurious), free health care, subsidized utilities, and snap. They end up with the same consumption level as your nurse or line cook without any job. I'ts not easy to get on all these benefit programs. It takes a combination of luck and tenacity.

The idea that LA could just pay it's poor people to live in Adelanto wouldn't work. This needs to happen at a state or federal level.

I frequently go to a trailer park to help someone there. Young kids are often running around and playing with other kids. In the summer I’ve seen a group of 8-10 kids grade and middle school age (some very young) sitting in street after dark playing games and talking. It’s a very mixed group age/gender/race. In my own wealthy neighbourhood I never see kids playing outside.

Wasn’t the coast guard one of the agencies that concluded that Russia hacked the DMC emails? It’s ridiculous how every transit district and university and other government agencies all have their own law enforcement departments. They all want to expand their jurisdiction to increase their budgets.

The amount of money spent for police and prison and the number of wasted human years (while in prison) is staggering. At the same time, I wish there was better data on the number of people who have permanent mental illness due to drug use. Is there much causation or just correlation?
