I have to switch between an M4 macbook pro and a Lenovo Chromebook Plus multiple times a day and I will say, while it isn't terrible, the keyboard and trackpad on the Lenovo have nothing on the Macbook. The experience with using USB devices (yubikey in particular) through the android layer is also real shitty.
It depends on where you live. I got an Instinct Crossover Solar recently and as far as I can tell, in the PNW it provides zero benefit unless I were to spend all day outside, every day.
Why not just load up the Spotify client on the desktop PC and use the Spotify client on the laptop to play on it through Spotify Connect? It requires Spotify Premium but it works great. Kudos for finding something else that works!

The controlplane costs ~$45USD/year to run but so far my experience with it has been super positive. They support new releases quickly and if you're using managed node groups you can do blue/green version upgrades.
The main tradeoff for using EKS is the built-in CNI is limited by the number of virtual IPs you can assign to a given node type's network adapters. If you are running a bunch of small workloads you end up with very under-utilized compute and if you're using autoscaling that results in a lot of churn. We replaced it with weave-cni which has it's own set of headaches in regards to pod access to the control plane but it does allow us to run a basically unlimited number of small workloads on somewhat beefy instances. We set it up using spot pricing and the costs have been very low.
I don't know what options are available to you where you live, but in the US there are local credit unions which have banking available via browser portals.
I use a Light Phone II which has a black-and-white e-ink display and no ability to display images or install applications beyond tools that they develop in-house. It's been great.
I, too, have problems with infinite scroll apps. It's been really beneficial to my mental health to ditch the smartphone and delete my twitter/instagram/facebook accounts.
While this is a great solution, I've found my Light Phone II to be a very solid replacement for my old dumbphones. Group texting that works! Cloud syncing your contacts! Wifi tethering if you really need it!
Find out if there is a mental health court in the county he's being held in and see if you can get them reassigned there.
I've been using this terraform provider quite a lot lately. It has made it a cinch to templatize a full manifest and pass data to the template for a deploy. We now have a fully reproducible base EKS cluster deploy done with working cert-manager/letsencrypt, nginx ingress, weave-net, fluentd logging to elasticsearch service, etc. Our application-specific code lives in a different repo and deploys things using YTT. It's so much more elegant than our old method of copying and pasting manifests and crossing our fingers and hoping the cluster didn't fall down. A full migration to a new cluster and deploy of a whole new application stack takes under an hour now.

We use cloudposse's label terraform module for everything. It works really well and it lets you use common values for everything. Paired with terragrunt it removes most of the pain of tagging for us.

This looks like a "user first" approach which I, as a user, really dig. Don't forget that Google is likely losing out on adwords revenue as a result of this change.
All these rent signs point to is people being pushed out by rent increases due to a perceived demand provided by people with higher incomes. It doesn't point to a change in the housing crisis at all. I lived in this area about 6 years ago and prices were already becoming highly unaffordable for the 'unprofessional' set back then.

athenahealth did something similar. New hires all came in waves and every two weeks there was a new class at Point Lookout on the coast of Maine. Whether you were the new CTO or a call center rep working out of Atlanta, they would fly you up there for a week to get properly indoctrinated. It was a wholly positive experience and it really set the tone for the rest of my time working there.

I love how his various ventures all seems to be pointing to this one goal. The Boring Company? Makes sense that he would want to get experience with tunnel boring considering no one is living on the surface of mars for very long without exposing themselves to considerable radiation and near certain death. A tunnel can be sealed and regulated. The first few generations of Martians are going to be mole people.

It isn't dependent on your browser, which has made testing much more reliable in my use cases. My workplace uses a lot of single-sign-on stuff which makes it hard to authenticate using service accounts and whatnot.
I use this nearly every day and it has really helped me build better middleware to connect various REST APIs together. Well worth $50/year.
The only time I was hit by a car while riding my bicycle is when I was riding on the sidewalk. Drivers are barely aware of pedestrians half the time, let alone one moving at 3-4x walking speed.
The Thinkpad T460s I'm using has a real ethernet port. Not sure if the 470 will have one though.
I went to work for a utility company blocks away from Puppet HQ, New Relic, Tripwire, Simple, and many others. There are tradeoffs but it has been one of the best decisions that I've made for my work-life balance in years. Perks are basically non-existent, but they ring hollow if the work isn't enjoyable or rewarding enough on its own.
RSI stuff aside, I've found that a trackpad is uniquely terrible when trying to use ANY 3D modeling software. That isn't necessarily the trackpad's fault though. The programs are written with a three-button scrollwheel mouse in mind and the fact that you are able to kludge it with a trackpad in a pinch is a side benefit, if anything.
