It’s not bad UX, it’s part of the experience of driving the car. Something that a Ferrari buyer probably cares more about than a Tesla buyer. I personally miss the physical keys on older cars that you had to insert and turn to start the car because you’re directly controlling the starter/engine. It feels like you’re driving a car and not using an appliance. There are people who prefer manual transmissions for similar reasons.

I just recently started to. Stopped using pretty much all Google services years ago, but the company I work for now uses (and heavily relies on) Google Workspace, so couldn’t avoid it. Being able to log into a browser and have all of your bookmarks, history, settings, and passwords is great. I know brave and Firefox offer this too, but those experiences just aren’t as seamless

I don’t see how creating a prompt that includes all the main things you want to say is different than writing the whole essay yourself. Seems like about the same amount of time would have been put into each.

I can’t think of a context where I would be upset about receiving a letter written by AI from uni administration/company/government, but I also use tools like CharGPT to help me communicate myself.

Seems like you think you’re exempt from being a victim of hate because of your demographics, and likewise that others of certain demographics, whatever they may be, are implicitly victims of it.

There are white, heterosexual, etc (the list of ways people say they privileged is ever expanding lol) men who have been on the receiving end of hateful speech because they are white, heterosexual, etc. and there are black or gay men who have never been personally attacked based on that identity.

But yeah, shielding yourself from speech or anything else you may find uncomfortable may make you feel better in the moment, but hurts you in the long term

I've used DuckDuckGo for a couple of years now, so I've gotten very used to it, and on the odd occasion I try to use Google, the amount of ads, different sections with news, images, products, and other unnecessary clutter that isnt actual search results makes for a really uncomfortable experience
