Is not just "slightly better" in some cases. An obvious one is repeated files. If RAR encounters a file ten times, it will compress once and store it and nine pointers. lzma and zstd guis i've tested will store ten compressed copies. It happens all the time in backups.

Your comment is spot on. I checked the webpack home hoping this tool somehow could optimize and/or clean inherited messed up projects with dozens of js libraries, only to learn that is up to the programmer to explicitly tell it the dependecies. At least, that's what I expected when I read "webpack simplifies your workflow by quickly constructing a dependency graph of your application and bundling them in the right order".

It's an honest question, as I can't see anything in the guidelines: are submissions of webs with useful data but with referrals ok with HN? Just asking in case some day I have a cool idea as this.

How do you know which is the oldest content? Are you polling web pages often enough that your spider can tell the time difference between the real content and the seconds old RSS scraped copy?

Because you don't know which one is the oldest, but which was the first retrieved by the spider.

I think the problem is it would be really hard for the Google web spiders to tell which is the real content and which the copy without human interaction.

Seems really interesting, could you enter into more detail, as how much is moderate traffic, and more info on your installation.
