I agree. So far my grocery experience with Amazon has been awful. Two items were returned by the shipper due to damage before they even got to my house. Another was crushed when it got to my house because Amazon's packaging was terrible. They kept trying to give me a refund instead of a replacement and all I could say was "I ordered this food because I wanted to buy it and eat it, why would I just want my money back?". So if that's how they manage to run Whole Foods, then I guess I'm all-in on Trader Joe's.

Why don't you sue them? It's a government agency, and I believe that the data should be available under New York's public records laws (I only have limited experience with NY's laws and IANAL). From personal experience, being nice to a government agency never got me anywhere, but our lawyer has a 95% win rate against them.

I know the United States will never do it, but Singapore barely has a drug problem because they execute dealers and have mandatory treatment for users. I'm not advocating the ridiculous policy that the Phillipines has, but Singapore doesn't mess around if they find distribution levels of illegal drugs on you. There also needs to be much stricter control of new prescriptions for opioids, which lead to addiction.

In a weird way, yes. There are deaf groups that believe that having cochlear implants is unnatural, and that the government needs to enforce compliance with ADA rules for people who could technically get permanent hearing. Now, not all deaf people are curable, but it's still insane to me that 10,000 people could lose access to something because one person insists that they, too, get access.

Actually plenty of people foresaw a problem with this dam and multiple other dams in CA. I have a friend who worked on dams in CA 20 years ago who told me that they weren't getting the maintenance and upgrades they needed and it was only a matter of time before there was a failure.
