I feel complete sympathy. I have a "perpetual" license for Minitab 15. Can I install it in a VM? Yes. Can I activate it? Nope? Can it be used without activation? Nope! So it's useless and has been now for years.

Minitab's solution was to offer me a 10% discount on a new pay by month license.

Mate of mine used to have conversations with the postman on postcards that while while they were addressed to us ALL the text was directed towards the postman. It's been over 30 years. I've been stuck in a WinX world recently and have started using Kroki for structured graphable info. For the most part it 'works' but it's not as much fun to just draw like Monodraw allows. Asciidraw doesn't quite hit the same sweet spots for me and I find it finicky and inaccurate.

Have a look at a Yoropen. I've been using the executive zII for years now and the executive pencil is my everyday 'beater'. In fact I like the pencil so much I've got two.

The old pens are hard to find refills for nowadays. But the newer pens have refills all over ebay.

Wizard is an awesome tool for initial investigation and initial slicing and dicing of incoming data. For trying out ideas and seeing if what you're "seeing" in the data might be worthy of further investigation and hypothesis testing.

It isn't R, SPSS or Minitab. It's brilliant at what it does and I love it. I've been using it for 3 / 4 years and wouldn't swap it for any other tool.

This looks really interesting. There are a number of "peak identification" tools for scipy but this is the first anomaly detection set I've seen. It will be interesting to see how, from a process point of view, it handles things like SPC rules.
