This is why the wealth tax will fail to fix inequality. Eventually your parents shitty 250k house out in the sticks will qualify for wealth tax. Whatever stocks you have that aren't in a retirement account will be wealth taxed even though half their growth is just from inflation. It's going to suck.

I can't imagine how frustrating this is for business owners. There are a bunch of obviously fake reviews by people in India on the local GNC branch. If you just look at the star rating, you'll think "Wow, that place must suck!". Then you read the reviews and it's from people who have never set foot in the United States never mind GNC. Reviews are basically useless.

The art you created is of course not entirely your own, it's essentially a restatement of the world cultural traditions, but through the lens of your life experience in a way that only you could create.

That Vox article is being misleading when they frame it based on "reported using the drug in the last year" because doing coke once on New Years is a lot different that doing coke daily. Looking at the daily use stats their statement that "In 2007, black people were 3.6 times more likely to be arrested for drugs than white people." doesn't seem so extremely disproportionate considering the daily usage is in some cases 3x as much. Very dishonest article.

I was watching one of the lectures on "Power Politics" that got upload to the Yale youtube recently. They cover this in one of the lectures. They show video of two monkeys in cages. One if given cucumber. It's content. Then the researcher gives the other monkey a grape. The monkey with the cucumber now throws out its cucumber, and rattles the cage when it doesn't get grapes. The Yale presenter as an interesting interpretation of it, that it's not a protest against inequality. The monkey is not enraged that the research has a bowl full of cucumbers and grapes, it's furious that another monkey in a cage just like it, is getting grapes instead of cucumbers.
