no one is stopping you to pay for this superior alternative to 'clunkier' offerings. but to say he came up with the 'solution' is disingenuous.

I'm seeing people saying 'this is amazing. I will pay for this' without even having tried it or any alternatives. I don't know about you but doesn't seem natural.

it is realistically selfish. Also Signal app/server is open-source. Anyone could churn up a server and fly under the radar.

We started using Wire before signal few years ago. it was light and we loved the dark interface. Then it got bulky and my Android phone killed it too often to be any useful. Then we switched to signal, it was bare bones, but it was light and didn't miss notifications
